They could stop using the word "podcast", and admit that this piece of branding was a crass and cynical attempt by Apple to re-brand the internet. cloud hosted email lets you still control SPF records. Big providers will list this as part of the setup process. Office365 will even warn you that DNS isn't properly configured if it detects you skipped this.

Back in the dark, dark days when my company was on Google Apps, this was one day turned on, and we had to jump through hoops to turn it off... and then every time I'd log into my personal gmail account (which also had + manually opted-out of), this shit got somehow re-enabled. I had to start using a seperate browser for my personal mail, which really pissed me off, because Opera is the only browser that doesn't fill me with RAGE.
Best of all, its now REQUIRED to post comments on youtube. Fuck that.

The SPAM folder is really the mail server's "I'm not 100% sure this is spam" folder.
90% of spam never gets to your email account at all. Those are the messages the server is 100% sure is spam.
I get more than my share of spam... but that's because I do things that confuse the mail server... such as flagging as not spam receipt emails from the viagra I bought from an online pharmacy. That right there pretty much fucks you for having any sort of reliable spam filtering.
