Not according to my friend's mom. She couldn't grasp the concert of data just "disappearing", so I told her that it goes into the wall. As far as I know, that's what she still thinks.
ADSL is often capped at far too low a speed. The fastest ADSL can go is 16mb/s, or something like that. It just seems like US companies like to cap it so low and charge way too much. I'm in Canada, and I'm paying $55/month for 2.5mb/s download on ADSL.
I've always wondered though, how can companies actually make clicking on an "OK" button legally binding? No witnesses, no signature, nothing.
Although the best one I ever saw was "By opening this package, you agree to the terms and conditions contained within."
I can't speak for terrorists, but if the country that I hated turned into an Orwellian society, I'd be pretty damn pleased with myself. All those proles running around, being killed by the government for thinking differently...
I realize that lack of privacy does not make a 1984 scenario, but it is the first step.
Obviously not everyone, or else they would have stopped by now.
I knew it! You're this guy!

Haven't you ever put an AOL CD in the microwave? I get as many of those CDs as I can just for that purpose.
The exe's are just sfx zip files. The files themselves are .wmv
Thanks. Late-night with no caffeine makes me lazy :P
Oh, ok, the urls do work. For some reason when I posted them, it put a space in the path. You just have to get rid of the space.
Nevermind, they're not static.

Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of magtapes.

kB/s or kb/s? Huge difference between the two.
It'd probably be named "All Stories".
My hotmail account on the other hand...
That's similar what I said about my last computer: "256 Megs is tons, I won't have to buy more ram!" Then the next Windows came out.

I hate to break it to you, but you can't whore karma if you're not logged in.
Or I could have just been on someone else's computer. Contrary to public opinion, some of us Slashdotters have friends.
Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but that about sums up my days.
I knew it was still in 2k, but I didn't know that it was still in XP. I'll have to check that out next time I'm on my computer. Thanks!
Take Media Player 6.4. It's one of the only Microsoft programs that I really like. It's simple, compact, efficient, and *gasp* not bloated!
I think he was talking about that little green on light. Those things are a bitch to replace, I'd be worried to.
