My company has been seeing a lot of turnover (both incoming and outgoing) lately. People leave because of better jobs and people come in because this place is better than where they were. I'm not sure if that means the market is better or worse, but it's certainly a little more mobile than I remember.
the site offers no explanation that I could understand at least... Who knows. All I really understood is that a 63cm diameter device weighs about 1400 Kg... That's one dense something-or-other.
"If you could create the right mix of materials to neutralize thermal expansion, that would be quite a significant technological advance," Schlesinger said.
... but what practical purposes does a material like this have? I would think a material that doesn't have ANY expansion or contraction in varied environments would be very useful, but what's usable about something that gets smaller when hotter?
Assuming they are going to tax by the mile, wouldn't it be easier to have the car's circutry (sp) report to the pump how far it's driven since it's last fill-up? This could be done via a very simple interface near the gas cap. Maybe even integrated into the gas nozzle. Granted, there are "Security" issues to work out (like making sure someone doesn't reset that counter right before they fill up) but it has potential. What do you guys/gals think?
Damn damn damn! I had this link sent to me by a mutual friend 5 days ago! I should have submitted it... Oh well... I'll live.
BY THE WAY - check out the rest of his site - he has some amazing pictures of tornados and lighting storms as well. This guy is one ballsy, talented photographer.
Is this getting gaming one step closer to competing w/ the popularity of football, soccer, or any other competitive, publisized sport? Could this evolve into (way down the road) the possibility of televising tournaments? Maybe G4Tech TV could redeem themselves by televising QuakeCon, or whatever the H2 equivalent will be. I'm all for it! It would make LAN parties that much cooler, yet so much geekier...
Why should they?!? Example (borrowed from someone else in the first story about this): You buy a crayon set (a nice one w/ the sharpener and averything) and some paper from me. I say, "Try drawing your favorite cartoon characters." You, in turn, use your amazing "skills of an artist" (thanks strongbad) to draw several fantastic recreations of Micky Mouse, Pluto, and Donald Duck. Does Disney then have the right to sue me for copyright infringement?

Your friends are wrong... You can loan your cd to your friend, but it's illegal for your friend to copy it.
Completely off topic... this is in regards to your sig, "Will slashdot ever drag itself into the year 2004 and provide the ability to edit posts?"
Why would they? There are way too many other issues to sort out first. What happens if I make a post and get modded +5 insightful (Ok, I know it'll never happen, but this is hypothetical), then I decide to edit it into a 5 page GNAA rant? Does it keep the +5 insightful? Does it lose all mod points? Would those mod points go back to the moderator? Way too much stuff to manage for a feature taht will just get abused. Like the box says (paraphrased), if you see a typo, you should have used the preview button!
So you're saying that because campaigns are conducted to match the election process, we can't possibly change the election process? Jeebus... The "we can't change because we've always done it this way" attitute is WAY too prolific in America. We all need to realize that sometimes, every so often, CHANGE CAN BE GOOD. If the election process changes, so will the campaigns. It's as simple as that. There are other arguments for and against simply using the popular vote, but yours is by far the least informed one I've seen.

woops.
I don't know HOW you code something to do that, but someone dropped the ball.

Not that I don't believe you, I'd just like to see some evidence of water-ice sublimating... any linkage or a reasonable scientific explanation?
Actually - I'm an idiot... The last paragraph:
"If you could create the right mix of materials to neutralize thermal expansion, that would be quite a significant technological advance," Schlesinger said.
THAT is how it would be useful...
go ahead...

Didn't they tell you in college that 68.45% of all statistics are made up on the spot?
douche bag...

It's bacteria you clod.

Isn't that the basis of the story?
My apologies for the confusion, I was working under U.S. law, not Canadian. I'll be the first to tell you I don't know squat about Canadian law.
No... He's New Here.
But I'm not selling anything beside the crayons and paper. Shouldn't the guy who drew Micky, Donald and Pluto get the axe?
I wish I had mod points to give you... I was going to ask the same question!

I can tell you right now, they most likely aren't. Even if they are, they don't care. If they do care, they're probably not the right people.
Don't forget more mail/shipping/courier options and faster service!

See that little '*' by his name? That means he is a subscriber and as such, has the time to write up a lengthy post. Get over yourself.
Dupe?
