Oddly enough, except for the difference in religion, they essentially hate the same things. They both hate:
1. Religious freedom 2. Freedom of speech 3. Intelligence and free thought 4. Creativity 5. "Elites" which are anyone who has half a brain in their head and uses it (as opposed to actual elites like the Saudi "royal" family which uses their inherited wealth to oppress people).
That is a very 4. Creative and 3. Intelligent stereotype. You sound like one of those "stick up your ass" elite types though.. the ones with half a brain and using it.
Blah, seriously man.. that sort of talk makes you sound worse than the group you are trying to pick on. The guy you replied to made a good joke. You put genuine thought into yours and boxed up an entire region to fit an outlandish stereotype that only exists in your imagination. Seriously, they both also hate cold winters!
I think you are right.. the results have been going down lately. Many times when i search for something the first few links are just sites that say the phrase i searched for in the middle of an advert page.
It's like the old web again.. in a way. Its difficult to find the things you want.. but when you do find a site that works, you mentally bookmark it and just direct type it next time. When i want to buy something i go straight to amazon and ebay. Screw searching because i end up in a maze of advertisements and review sites and nobody is actually selling anything (and looks legit).
Wouldn't these be Masked Heros instead of Super Heros?
Also, none of the Heros looked beefy or badass. More like neighborhood watch weirdos. I suggest a better workout, more calorie intake, and developing better less-than-lethal crowd control type weapons. Chances are non-lethal will just make them mad.. and changes are also good that you won't be dealing with just one.
ah, i must disagree with you. If it becomes depreciated, it isn't just no longer pre-installed, it isn't officially supported.
Currently Apple provides the java run-time. The community will have to provide an open-source solution pre-compiled and it will no longer "just work". I have the feeling that things that don't "just work" go against the Mac grain and won't last.
However i must agree with you (changed my opinion) that a lot of development is on the Mac. I did some research and a vast percentage of web dev happens on a Mac instead of PC. Native side, it looks like PC is still ahead but only because Visual Studio doesn't run natively in OS X. I could see that transitioning over too if.Net and VS ran native. Not sure why so many devs use Mac for webdev but facts don't lie and my personal choices obviously aren't a good measuring stick. Linux is low in every dev category : /
I believe you but i have a hard time believing you went from building your computers to using pre-built.. Dells. AHHHHHHHH!
Also, there are closed water cooling systems these days.. zero maint required. But it sounds like you found what you like and you have a job that can support it : )
Eeek, i think you are mistaken. You can't run Visual Studio natively so you're stuck with bootcamp or VMWare. I think we can agree that there is a lot of development on VS too. There is also the upcoming issue of java depreciation on the mac. That could prevent a lot of developers from coding in OS X unless they use a non-standard jdk. What you probably saw was professionals owning a mac.. people who are making decent money.
Ultimately it doesn't matter what OS/hardware the code is written on, as long as the code compiles and runs. This is easier working on the same platform as the target (unless the target is a phone or something). Multi-target programs require testing/compiling on various OSs/platforms so it's good to mix it up (as long as the colaboration tools are multi-platform as well).
I had stupid amounts of freedom and discovered that stricter kids went crazy when they finally left the house.
My Mom's rules were: 1) "Clean up your own messes." 2) "Be polite to guests that are over." 3) "Learn something new every day." My Dad was constantly deployed and played a smaller role in parenting.
If i skipped class or did poorly on a test and the school called the House to talk to my Mom.. she would ask them if they have talked to me about it yet. If not, she would ask them to speak with me about school related problems first because only the school and myself have the ability to directly change an outcome.
This set the stage for how i live my life. Laws aren't a substitute for morals. Laws aren't something to obey because The Man will catch you. It's up to the individual to internalize the differences and learn (usually through experience) why rules exist and specifically why. Everyone reading probably breaks the law every day.. speeding. But very few if any are breaking the spirit of the thing and that is to set a safe speed to travel at. Police obviously are supposed to enforce the law to the letter but from experience we know a good officier is lenient and follows the spirit of the law. After all, we are Human.. not machines.
Strict kids go fucking nuts when they get out of the house. No rules man! That's because they haven't internalized the reasons for the law existing.. it was pressed upon them from above.
I'll second this. I recently played Majesty 2 and had a great time. Though it can be frustrating with upper level heroes.. they don't respond to small bounties.
You're probably right but i doubt a commercial version of sandboxie would be as lightweight and awesome. It would likely have all sorts of wizards and "helpful" preset things.
If you routinely make new things or repair old things, it's a good idea to tech hoard or keep random junk because it will likely come in handy down the road.
Because you become invested in the thing and the characters aren't just in a fantasy show but in a Story. Who would tell you a story with a total shit ending? nobody would, the story would die and nobody would care. But because the story is on-going we don't have this option and hope that when the story concludes it will be just as awesome as the opening lines.
The goal is to get the show paid for with a profit. Advertisements aren't the only way to do that. Ultimately you need to get a couple dollars from each viewer per episode. If a show is popular and lots of people watch it, advertisers will pay big money to get their products seen. But if showing those advertisements costs the popularity of a show (or drives people to piracy) then it is a poor way to monetize the viewers.
I would subscribe weekly to watch a show i liked. I am more than willing to pay a few dollars for each SG:U episode as it comes out. People will still pirate the shit out of the show.. like i am now (dropped cable and watch all tv via internet).
But if anyone is like me.. once you latch onto a show, you want to watch it the very minute it comes available. If i could watch it via the SF channel website, it would be several gigs less i need to seed each month (but i doubt they would make this an enjoyable experience.. commercials and popups and bullshit would turn people back to piracy).
These shows quickly becomes your Sci-Fi drug and you become invested in the shows' general well being. I loved Farscape, SG:A, Firefly, Space:A&B and more.. most of them died prematurely. It took a bit but i'm becoming a big fan of SG:U.
Also, just wanted to say that not all the money comes from tv comercials but from DVD sales, merch, and the many ways to make money from a fandom. They need to also realize that popularity is something that grows in time and is rarely instant. I'm sure there are many canceled shows that are still making good dvd sales.
Google still has to follow the laws. The Laws of each country are different. It would be against the Law to show "Tank Man" to the Chinese public. What you see as good and evil seems Absolute and not grounded in the reality we live in. In reality each group or subgroup has their own definition of what's good and evil and Google is doing a good job doing no evil whether you want to admit it or not.
105-110F usually and rarely does it go over 120F. I don't have a before and after comparison though, sorry. The only bad part about the thing is you have to remove the mobo from the case to install a custom bracket. That won't be a problem for you though if your friend is going to dremel the case anyways.

True. But what is worse, a leader killing it's people.. or fellow citizens killing each other? Both seem bad.
You are correct. Now try to reverse the process... ow, not able to get your facebook stuff into Gmail? Well, now you understand why there is a battle.

all imo, of course.
I just snorted/spit coffee onto my keyboard, should i worry?
It's possible for rivers to move too.

They are using the lake for cooling, as stated in the summary. Heat is probably carried away to the lake via underground pipes.

There's a monthly cap? oh damn
what's wrong with sandboxie?

Lost also had a shit ending.. i felt robbed : )

You misunderstood what he was saying. He was saying the Iraqi Army men he worked with were very bad and he didn't like protecting them.
unless it's a no fault state?
If you are driving, the passengers have already placed their lives into your hands.
Of course he's lucky that nothing went horribly wrong, this is the nature of heroism.. you brave the scary and accomplish something awesome.
