    By the way: her statement was a metaphor. If she turns on the TV and sees a random soldier with a can, then it's probably become ubiquitous.

    Many power companies won't do it. There are few laws forcing them to accept the power, or account for it even if you do give it to them.

    So how much does a house cost in Uruguay? Or the monthly rent for a two-bedroom apartment? How much does it cost to feed a family of four? I'll bet it's a minute fraction of what it costs in the USA.

    Shell games. There aren't that many people that make even $100,000 a year. Six figure salaries are pretty much a falsehood for the average American no matter what TV might try to convince us of.
    And I'm sure that if we raise taxes and install a truckload more social programs, those salaries will go right up!

    I also don't trust the U.S. census of 2000 due to the damage it did in my state. It made Columbus Ohio the "largest" city in Ohio by incorporating all the cow towns around it.
    And that's a red herring. Whether this method of accounting is flawed or not is debatable, and even if it is I find it hard to assert that Columbus is representative of the USA as a whole.

    Do we need to dig into the mounds of proof that only teaching abstinence doesn't work either? You can make the exact same analogy about Beer, and how the problems we have over here compared with the notable LACK of problems they have in Europe around college bingeing, etc.

    Do us all a favor and refrain from quoting scriptures you don't understand. A police force can't defend its citizens by turning the other cheek. Turning the other cheek is a personal act. Governments are intrinsically evil, created by man, and as human constructs incapable of loving or caring (which is why most social programs don't work).

    The logic was pre-paid phones are only used by terrorists and drug dealers.
    No, the logic was that buying scores of prepaid phones at retail is suspicious activity and worthy of investigation. Buying one or ten is not, or else law enforcement would be wasting a lot of time investigating middle-class and low income families.
