I actually wonder about this, the UI for an Android App is run on one thread, anything related to loading data, or long running tasks, should be offloaded to another thread.. Would this thread not run on another core? If so, then every android app that accesses the internet now has to do so on a separate thread from the UI, which means they gain from multiple cores.

We used to use a bank safe deposit box and rotated our backups offsite.. made two copies, one local and one for remote (both on USB drives). Kind of a pain as you are the mercy of bank hours, but should be pretty safe..
I would guess every pilot would get an iPad. Sounds like a good plan, but Allied Pilots association says there are over 10,000 american airlines pilots.. So if an iPad and accessories cost $600 each, you are looking at 6 million dollar investment to save 1.2 million dollars. I hope they plan to keep those iPads for over 4 years.. Otherwise, I don't get the savings..
I think you are spot on.. It is about the fees, and Apple probably wants a fee comparable to what they got out of foxconn. I bet their costs are not much over foxconn costs, foxconn is making money on volume, and apple is raking it in on volume + markup. They are used to getting their way in contract negotiations, and seems that if it is not cheap enough, they cry foul.
Seems that their other choice would be expanding their capacity. I would also wonder if their users are equally distributed across the month. If they have most users billing cycles start at a certain point of the month, I would expect there to be a huge spike in traffic after their throttle was removed. Or maybe they should ask Apple to help expand their network infrastructure..
There is a pretty easy solution right now. Go to yahoo and create a dummy email account, then go to contacts (in yahoo mail) and import contacts from Facebook. Then you should be able to go to Circles in Google+ and import contacts from Yahoo. A bit of a pain, but works well.
That covers a new iphone case which has an integrated IR filter & IR Transmitter. The IR Transmitter will provide some IR light so the sensor does not see it all as blocked, while the IR filter blocks the signals from the concert. It will be magical that you can record @ a concert.
When we built our home, I had Tyvek Therma Wrap put around my house, not only does it manage moisture, it also is a radiant barrier. Similar what I have on my roof. My wifi signal inside my house is fine. Going outside it drops off pretty quickly, but makes for some better security (not being able to war-drive past my house). It also prevents me from getting a good cell signal inside my house. Sometimes nice to not be reachable.
In the early 90's I was using a TI-81 and TI-82. I had the same issue where I wrote a program to solve quadratic equations for example. I got hit for not showing my work, I was also told that dividing by zero would break my equation. Well nothing like a zero check in the denominator and displaying the correct message about possibly being a linear equation. I also had my program spit out each step that I needed to show as my work.. All I had to do was enter a few values, and copy from my screen.. Turns out my teacher was impressed when she had the wrong answer on a test question and I called her out on it.. She ended up asking for me to install my application on her calculator so she could double check her work...
After working at a city w/ fire fighters & police officers the logic is very flawed in what I have seen.
The city where I work, the fire fighters work 24hr shifts every 3 days. 1 on, 2 off. During that 24hrs, they are expected to be at the fire house, or on a fire truck, or doing work related business.
If there is a shortage at a station, usually a fire fighter will be asked to stay over one extra shift for extra pay, or comp-time. Either that, or they might re-arrange some of the work force at the stations for a shift to cover a shortage.
This is also similar to the Police officers. Because the department is pretty small, police officers are often on call for certain things, such as crime scene investigation. Those officers I think are signed up for one week at a time. But they get a minimum of 2hrs pay for coming in on their day off. They do get incentive pay for certain positions, and I think that pay is to help off-set the cost of carrying around a pager. But needless to say, they get paid for their time.

Android has had GPS proximity alerts in LocationManager since API 1.0 http://developer.android.com/reference/android/location/LocationManager.html But I bet it was Steve Job's idea.. That way it could be magical when they release it 4 years later.
That was my exact thought. You can do a search across local & remote storage, and have been able to for a while now.

Just buy some stop sticks. Better yet, buy a bunch of nails/screws etc. Everyone will get flat tires, and be forced to slow down on donuts.
I have some Microsoft LifeCam Cinema cameras. Running them for a security camera and also for a bird / nest cam.
