You can make up all the false rules and espouse your own personal morality all you want but it is irrelevant. You argument is a complete and utter tangent to my point and merely shows your lack of reading comprehension and by your language a more generally undesirable disposition.

My comment stands and is 100% accurate.

Freedom of speech allows you to speak your mind, how others react to it is simply not covered and nor should it be. People can flap their lips about whether this is the right decision or not but don't claim "freedom of speech" as a defence here because it most certainly is not. The basic lack of understanding of the term as shown on this forum is rather disturbing.

I would also argue my own opinion that this was a valid decision to make. The CEO position is a public position and thus their public outspoken opinion is relevant to their job. Not so for most other jobs of course.

However if you were an outspoken bigot inside the workplace, that would be a different matter entirely.

Freedom of speech does NOT mean that you get to say whatever you want and safely escape any consequences no matter how bigoted or nasty you are.

It just means you get to say what you want in public.

(I will politely ignoring your sexual orientation since it has no bearing or relevance to the discussion...)

The CEO of a company is, if nothing else, one of the public faces of the company. (for "the public" and business dealings) Their PUBLIC outspoken opinions and actions are relevant to their ability to do their job effectively. They have to at least align vaguely with those of the organisation.
At the very least not directly contradict them as they do in this case.
e.g. Having an outspoken bigot as the figurehead of your company is NOT a good look - doubly so for the sort of organisation that Mozilla is.

Freedom of speech does NOT mean that you get to say whatever you want and safely escape any consequences no matter how bigoted or nasty you are.

It just means you get to say what you want in public.

    3) They have an overriding strategy that includes OR as it intends to be and software that utilises this tech and will come with every unit.

Many people on this forum seem to completely forget how fundamental and low level this tech is. (mostly due to bias against FB)

This is not a gaming console. It is a VR headset in which almost EVERY VR related issue is shared by ALL applications. If they want penetration (which FB most certainly will) it will have to be available for generic (i.e. gaming) use.
They have every opportunity to compete with Sony using this strategy because Sony will use their usual strategy of locking their headset to their shitty console with all its restrictions, lack of innovation and exorbitant developer fees and retail prices.

If anything there is a more fundamental war that has been going on for at least a decade now which is the war of home entertainment - with many losers. Internet TV, entertainment gaming consoles, desktop internet, etc. If I was to guess, I would imagine FB is thinking somewhere in this business strategy space.
What happens if Sony VR comes out and it is awesome and the PC does not have a unified VR head set? Does Sony realise its dream of becoming the main entertainment platform for most wealthy households?

How do you think this sort of thing will effect FB?

If they "pull a Sony" then most certainly it will be a 2) scenario as you mention. But looking at what they have done with other companies such as instagram I just don't see it.

If someone deals drugs on pain of death it is still a drug deal. The courts may decide to only prosecute the person doing the blackmailing but it does not mean that the charge of dealing drugs is not applicable.

In this case the weight of law for colluding++ should come crashing down atop Apple's head and not a moment too soon. Anti-competitive practices should not be allowed in a free market; and doubly so from the hypocritical mega-corps who push for it (and "buy" it) at every turn, avoid their taxes and cry foul every time anyone else does anything remotely the same which effects them.
