I think this is the wrong road to go down. We should make computers better for people, but they should be made to actually think and reason. We have enough trouble doing this ourselves and if we have machines doing it they will surely out think us, and then what?
There are so many names that are possible. I see two solutions. One is where people can make up whatever title they choose, this is basically what's happening now, except only the managers and other bigwigs get to decide.
The more thoughtful practice though would be to set some (inter)national standards, much like the W3C web standards. That way if you carry a certain title, it means a certain something, not like now where anybody can (and do) say they are anything and that really doesn't help anyone either.
I have noticed this too. Another big factor I believe is changes in the shareware industry where a lot of developers are deciding instead of mailing CDs out or providing downloads, they could just offer the same thing on the web. Being web based give the author more control and more flexibility over the software then if it was a "standard" application.
My bank has been known to mess up account numbers, at least with me. Makes me wonder what other companies, and especially the government will do with my data.
A very complicated joke to be sure. Although its a pretty good clue when a user can not read the output. This may have some applications, but the user interface is awful!
You have a good point. I use their services occasionally, but as soon as I receive any funds I transfer them into my bank ASAP. They run a pretty high risk business if you ask me.
Great idea there, I went to the mirror and was able to read it with pictures and all. I bookmarked his site though and will check back tomorow as it looks pretty interesting.
Now this seems very promising. I would love to be able to combine my phone, cable, and Internet bills into one. The only problem is I would still want to be able to switch if service was bad or something. Do you have other options available or are you locked in so to speak?
I think the only thing that can help ICANN is a complete reorganization. Every rule and policy should be gone over by a 3rd party. The Internet is growing way to big and way to fast for ICANN to properly handle their job and they are falling very short. With their current policies I think they are hurting future growth of the medium.
I think this is a big reason that employers look more at actual experience in the field then degrees. It doesn't matter if you have a bachelors, masters, or MCSE certificate, you also need the experience that shows that piece of paper means anything.
I am a big fan of Knoppix, "Linux on a CD" is a great idea. It's also a great tool to have for diagnostics when you can't load the regular O/S. I can't wait to try this new edition.
This is something that I think most of us thought they had already. I meen they are NASA! They should be space experts and their thousands of pages of manuals for any possible event should have that covered too. Its my bet that if they really thought it was a problem then they could have jerry-rigged something together, however it seems like the ground control told them everything was fine and not to worry. Theres a lot of pressure to with budget cuts and having to meet tight deadlines and show results.

Reminds me of the article they just had here recently about what really is an engineer and who is NOT really an engineer.
I believe they are doing this more for the attention and not to actually have him pay that.
Good point, now though it needs to be packaged "nicly" so more people find out about it and can easily use it.
Don't you know some people like a challenge ;-)
Hmm perhaps they should merge?
Or not
It seems that since April 1st the news has been going down hill. First Microsoft vs Google and now a pushed back release date for FreeBSD?
Yes I'm afraid that's the truth. I do freelance work and even that I have to offer pretty cutthroat rates.
It's good to hear they are redefining their goals here. I think the majority of people would rather have a more stable Phoenix like browser.

Thanks for clarifying that it is NOT a 2nd trial as I said earlier. I must be half asleep or something...
Usually if a person has to have a 2nd trial then its usually better for the defense.

I wonder if this is true or not since it could easily explain it.
I remember back then when Netscape was a powerful company and had more users then MSIE. Those were the days...

Interesting concept, although I doubt the range is large enough.
