Well, they've already got a head start I think.

  2. I'm going to hum a tune... on Canadian Music Industry Drills Dentists · · Score: 4, Insightful

I'm going to hum a tune, and you can pay for the pleasure of hearing it. Then again, maybe its no longer even legal for me to hum the tune to start with, unless I bought the album, and its being hummed on an approved playback/humming device....?

    This is just plain greedy.

I think we already have this kind of thing here in Australia?

How is getting MS to remove that clause from the contract hurting Japanese companies??

  5. Misleading title - "...Mozilla flaw" on MSN, Word Vulnerable To Shell: URI Exploit · · Score: 5, Insightful

The title is quite misleading on first glance.

"Microsoft products also vulnerable to Mozilla flaw"

If it was a Mozilla flaw to start with, my linux boxes would be vulnerable. I know its picky, but the title is not accurate IMHO as Mozilla is being used to take advantage of a Windows feature, rather than the flaw itself existing in Mozilla.

  6. Re:Linux? on Time to Try a Linux Desktop? · · Score: 1

It's the OS all your Windows applications and games won't run on...

And depending how the windows upgrade path is, maybe won't run on your next version of windows that come on your new PC.

Well, IE had a security exploit so it's time to switch to Linux!

I think you mean another security exploit, in a long line of security exploits.

You just can't be sure your app will still run in 5 years..

You can still run all your software from Win98 or your current version of windows? What about software written for XP that may not run on Longhorn due to the break in compantibility we've been warned about? All your hardware is still supported from 95/98 as well? I for one have been caught by software that doesn't run on my next windows upgrade, and hardware that becomes obsolete.

...you can't expect the Linux desktop to become standard if it doesn't embrace any standards itself.

OMG!! What world are you living on? Standards + MS?!? ... Oh man, I wish I had my mod points right now :)

Oh right, so the arrest of Sven was going to solve the problem...? Maybe he wasn't the cybercrime boss after all..? Idiots.
