I too just recently bought a nook to root. I had some gift cards/rewards points so got it NIB for about $135...and WOW...that a tablet for that kinda price!!

Anyway...could you elaborate on what apps, and what games you found were the best on it?

This nook project is my first hands on exposure to anything Android before.

    Thanks in advance!

they're looking to unify their portable devices...look at the market for standalone MP3 players in general. The only people I even know that still carry one are the ones still rolling with dumbphones. Otherwise, they use their phone as an MP3 player nowadays.

I dunno...I have several dedicated mp3 players. For one thing...I don't use the phone all day for music, I don't want the battery to run out in case I need to talk or txt or check email on it. I do use it at times for Pandora at work when I'm up for some 'radio' like experience.

But aside from that, I have the new iPod nano...for working out at the gym. I don't want the heavy bulky phone there in my pocket...the nano clips on to my shirt and is largely out of the way but providing both mp3's or radio if I want.

Also, the phone has more limited memory and can't carry my large library of music...only a small subsection. I play my 'brick' iPod classis in my car or I grab it to go when I travel so I can listen to any song I have whenever I think of it....also with many podcasts...videos...etc. The phone can't carry everything I like to bring with me.

Heck...now I'm starting to carry a tablet with me more and more....I rooted a nook recently and have really been enjoying that.

So, sure..we are trying to downgrade carrying SO much..but it isn't going away totally....a phone can do many things, but it can't do them all well. The screen is small, it has a lack of memory, and you often need to keep it with enough power for its primary use.....telephone.

I'm talking in general during life. You see tons of women out there while moving through your day each day...see one, approach. If that doesn't work..wait a little, and you'll see a new one that hasn't seen your previous interaction.

Desperation, NO..women definitely do not react to that. Projecting confidence will mean you're not projecting desperation. You need to engage them...and basically get them to try to present THEIR value to YOU. That takes a little practice...but it works. You need to be the one they WANT to be with....have them offer YOU their number after talking with them awhile. Things like that also help with women who quite often do retro-justification for their actions. "I must have thought he was cute since I offered my phone number to him"....etc.

  7. Re:Takes the guess work out? on Can Analytics Help Fix Your Love Life? · · Score: 1
Actually, the better way for a guy to improve his love life is pretty simple.

    1. Go out and fucking approach all the women you can. Every woman you see that you have an interest in...approach her and talk to her. It goes help to learn how to talk to women, but that will come, go out and start every day, even if it is only saying 'hello' or asking the time. When you engage them in conversation...listen to them, and one easy way to talk to them, is get them to talk the most!!

No woman ever was out with a guy and complained that she talked about herself too much.

    2. Project confidence in yourself. Doing step #1 will start you off in that direction. You had the 'guts' that most of the other guys in the general area didn't have. Woman dig a man that projects confidence in themselves, and how they make their way through life. Until you are really confident...fake it, it works.

    3. Try to at least watch your general hygiene, and appearance. You don't have to be Brad Pitt...but don't smell bad, or dress like a homeless person on the street. You don't have to be the best looking guy in the world....thankfully, women are much more forgiving of a male's appearance than we are of them in general. I call it the Billy Joel syndrome...when he was nailing Christie Brinkley who was one of the hottest women in the world at the time. Sure the money helped...but you see my point. How often do you see a good looking chick on the arm of a guy that isn't the best in the world? Yes, some of them might be rich, but the majority are not. They have decent appearances, a good sense of humor and other qualities like I mentioned above.

But seriously, the main thing is...to quit being shy. Do what it takes to get over that....I don't ever remember anyone spontaneously exploding for walking up to speak to a strange woman and trying to meet her. The WORST that can happen is...she's not interested...but so, what? The one right beside her might just be. There's tons of them out there.

If nothing else...play it as a 'numbers' game...hit on every one that interests you...and you will get laid, will get new friends, and after seeing a lot of them, you'll come across one that has traits you might like to settle down with.

It just isn't as hard as people try to make it out to be to themselves.

To me, work is work...professional relations only...outside of work, is where I have my friends, lots of them.

But if they were to ask me at work the question you posed, I'd simply say "I'm not on Facebook", and let that be the end of the conversation.

Not saying I doubt you on this one, but I do have a few questions.

    1. How do they know he has a FB account in the first place? I mean, I've never seen an employment form that asked for such information.

    2. What if he didn't have a FB account? Would they hound him to join and create one just for work? Could he just tell them he doesn't have one?

When AIDs hit...it became a HUGE incentive, to get into and stay in a monogamous sexual relationship...generally marriage.

Yes, I do believe that if they found the cure, then guys who were afraid of messing around with more women...would tend less to become married, or would cheat more in marriage (if found out would divorce), and sure...many that could feel they could freely pursue sexual conquests without fear of death...would get out of the stiffling arrangement they were in.

Would there be a stampede to the courts for divorces...no.

But men's thinking and social norms would change that's for sure.

A LARGE factor for men to marry and stick it out for life....is that it gives them safe, constant sex. If the safe were a trait with most any women out there...safe sex would be easier to get outside of just one woman for life, and I dare say...many men would go for it.

Sex and love aren't necessarily intertwined....they can be quite separate and fun things on their own.
