I seriously don't want something in my phone that hooks in any way into a payment system whether it digs directly into my checking account..or even a special one. Just a great way to get charged for money by a thief. I prefer to just carry cash most of the time.....I don't even like the ATM cards that are also debit cards, and have had to tell the bank I don't want one....only an ATM card, and they sent them to me...

Aside from the privacy and security problems I have with it..do I REALLY need a new, overly convenient way to spend more fucking money?

Hell...I'm trying to save for a house and retirement some day....I don't need more temptations to spend easy cash.

As an Irishman, I don't know how anyone can drink Guinness. I see tourists ordering it with their breakfast sometimes here (granted that will be a breakfast at 12 that looks more like a bucket of greese with a few sausages thrown in) and I feel like getting sick when I see it! Give me a Bulmers any day of the week and no one has formed a better way to store that than in a pint bottle.

Well, if tourists..especially Americans...that is about the only Irish beer they know. I mean, in mainstream US, mexican beer is Corona (thankfully changing a bit), and Irish beer is Guiness, Australian beer is Fosters. That's the only taste of it most people get over here.

The scene is changing a bit...many brew pubs and bars specializing in beers are offering other choices, but even then, often small brew US beers are dominating those taps, and with decent reason too..they are local and they are GOOD. Down here in New Orleans, we have a number of local breweries that are putting out some quality beer.

That being said...as a tourist when I'm visiting other countries (less and less these days)...I do try to ask the locals what they prefer and what is good to drink. I find it is a great way to learn, and an easy way to strike up a conversation with the locals and make new friends and find out where to go off the beaten path for restaurants, etc.

Sadly, many of my fellow countrymen travel and stick with fscking McD's or the like...but not me. When in Rome as they say....

BTW everyone seems to be missing a VERY important point: Their prices for going over are specifically designed to punish you so you keep their video services instead of their excuse of paying for bandwidth. For example last I checked a Gb of bandwidth on the backbone was something like 4c, how much does Cox charge if you go over your 36Gb! bandwidth cap? $1.50 per Gb. Hell dope dealers can't make that kind of profit!

Where do you live that Cox had a cap??!?

I have had great luck with Cox. I have a business connection with them, only $69/mo...unlimited, I can run servers all I want, and even get a low level SLA and they've been very fast at responding the few times I've had to call them.

I've not heard of anyone with either a normal or business account (and mine is to my house) having a cap imposed by Cox. I'm in southern Louisiana.
