    I've been looking to set up some sort of ZoneMinder system...and am also looking for some good quality wireless cameras that are compatible with this system.

    I need lots of coverage...that isn't really good for wired units (2x story house, front, back, inside...etc). I saw a wiki once from their site, but not the main cameras that seemed to be good quality, are kind of $$.

    As I understand it...there are LOTS of shallow wells that could be drilled off the East and West coasts much more safely.

    One SAD part of this happening down here (I live in NOLA)...is that LA and the rest of the gulf states, have never gotten a fair percentage of the oil revenues that we have fought for and should rightly get due to our risk, and all the price we pay down here for the infrastructure for piping it inland, and processing it.

    If we'd been getting revenues that really should be due to us...it certainly would help us out in times of trouble like this.

    On the other hand...I'm eating all the oyster poboys, and other seafood I can get my hands on here now...before it is all gone for a long time.

    I remember not all THAT many years ago...when pretty much everything was closed on Sundays. The old 'Blue' laws. Hell, even grocery stores that were open couldn't sell everything.

    You know...I used to bitch then about it...but thinking back..kinda nice to know everyone had pretty much at least one day off together.

    Actually...no. I go places cause they sell me something I like or need. I've never looked beyond that for any retailer. I'd say 99% of people don't. Hell, I'd not even thought about that concept till you just now mentioned it.

    Why would anyone yelling what you mentioned be punished? Sure, it might be unseemly to shout, but why do you agree that is even should receive some form of punishment? No harm done...just loudly expressing an opinion.

    I think freedom of speed DOES mean the right to say just about anything without consequences (from the government).

    I wasn't aware we had widespread 'good samaritan' laws? For what crimes and what jurisdictions is a reaction of deadly force required?

    Is espionage/treason really punishable by death? I thought Ames was still alive?

    Oops..just read that article...it is punishable by death, but they apparently can plea it down.

    I dunno..I'm guessing that these charges would be punishable by death IF the espionage resulted in the death of our agents...in that case it would be death for essentially 'murder' by proxy?

    And if, God forbid, you are ever brought in for questioning by the police....shut up, and lawyer up!!

    This is especially true if you are truly innocent. I've heard this over and over...and saw a great lawyer presentation on this on a youtube video (search for it, I forgot who this guy was).

    The police are NOT there to help you, or prove you innocent, they are trying to pin the blame on someone...hopefully the right one, but you gotta be careful. Anything you say, even if you are innocent, can be twisted against you.

    Shut up...lawyer up.

    Well, it isn't THAT hard to get yourself a domain, and build and run your own email server. Postfix is a great little tool.

    If I have some down time..I just do a temp changover of my domain to gmail where they can host awhile...change ISP's and backup on my email server again.

    I can reach it from anywhere I'm at....using squirlmail...even use a web interface.

    Driving is fun...especially if you have a performance car. I'm guessing in your world, there are no motorcycles either that you can drive on your own. *sigh*

    A world without independent transportation is not one I'd look forward to.

    Not by you, but there are a LOT of other people in the world. And, at least in the US, we pretty much believe in free speech. You can say just about anything you want to. Nothing is special about Mohamad, islam or any other figurehead or religion that should prevent anyone saying what they wish about it. Sure, it may be disagreeable to some, but shit...freedom of speech kinda negates the freedom from being offended.

    People need to just grow a little thicker skin....

    I'll agree that every group usually has its fringe elements. However, with the Muslims...c'mon, it seems the crazies are almost in the majority over there. I doubt you've seen that much news footage with radical christians out in the the street burning someone in effigy, changing death to _______.

    It almost seems like it is the 98% of bad muslims that give the rest a bad name.

    It is interesting, in the past few years that I've had a CB in my car, I now find out where cops are LONG before the radar detector goes off. And when traveling alone, kinda fun to have someone (truckers) to talk to along the way. Just don't call them "good buddy"...that term has changed in meaning since the 70's.
