LOL, but seriously, guys are visual beings, they want to see and react to beautiful women which in general is not the majority of the female population.

Hell, its getting worse and worse today, as that it is getting to where a majority of modern females not only are overweight and obese, but we are NOW actually telling everyone "this is ok"...and they're believing it.

It is NOT ok to be obese, and not for the sake of aesthetics, BUT for health concerns.

The looking hot part is just gravy that goes along with being fit and not fat.

Actually, this works in a MUCH broader sense.

In just, common, every day interaction with people...saying "Thank You" and the like gets you SO far...and for some reason, basic politeness has gone to hell in the US.

When I'm in a restaurant, I constantly say thank you, when the server brings me something or does something. Amazing how saying thank you and giving a smile seems to get you better service, and often at bars, MUCH better drinks. Tipping helps there too.

But my one complaint is...people these days, rarely seem to respond to a "Thank you" with a "Your Welcome", it seems so much of the time is is the (what I think is lazy sounding or less polite". "No Problem".

I'm not sure when that one took over.

But really, its amazing what doors can open up to you, or what people will do for you..if you just catch their eyes, smile and say "Thank You"....hold a door open for someone....I tell ya, maybe its because basic manners and civility have disappeared so much in popular culture, its amazing how people react positively and light up when you yourself use basic manners, are friendly, civil, and actually thankful when someone does something nice.

    Thank you!!

I do hear from some, but sadly, not the majority of your generation this can do attitude and success story.

I was working as soon as I was 16yrs too, as that I wanted to save and buy my first car. I went from there and worked at least part time ever since then through school and then worked crap jobs as an adult till I got my real jobs, and yes, those were later in life than I anticipated, but I kept trying and am doing pretty well.

I'm so glad to hear a story like yours, and hope others of your generation will emulate you and your work ethic.

I'm technically considered a Millennial, but I feel more Gen X than anything, 34 Years Old. I hate living in Cities. I prefer the suburbs or rural areas. My problem with owning a house right now is price. I live in the South Denver area. A 1200 sq/ft. home with a tiny yard where I currently reside is going for $350,000+. I recently sold my 496 sq/ft Condo in the same area for $140,000 less than 2 hours after it hit the market. Moved back in with my parents and am saving for a down payment on a house. Real Estate is just way too expensive. I could have rented my condo out if my HOA would have approved, (a whole other issue). A rental like that is going for around $1000 a month. It's ludicrous.

Well, one thing to consider, there *ARE* places in the US that are much cheaper than out west.

In TX, even in very large metropolitan areas, you can get waaaaay more house than you need for $150-$200K. I also believe they do not have state tax there either.

There are other many examples of cheaper states to live in, so, you might look into that.

RTFS. They're not just staying in one city, they're staying at one address. This means nobody is buying houses. It's another sign the Millennials are getting screwed.

It means, that they're still living at Mommy and Daddy's house, waiting for the world to give them the high paying dream job they "deserve" and would enjoy doing.....and it ain't happening.

Previous generations understood this, but apparently the snowflakes do not.

We're all finally seeing the problems with raising kids where everyone gets a fucking trophy for just showing up, and everyone is special and deserves a prize, just for processing oxygen.

Sadly, this does not prepare them for the "real world" and they don't know what to think about this, or how to react when everything they want, doesn't work out their way.

Kids...living at Mommy's house till you're in your 30s, and throwing a shit fit everytime you don't get your way or are offended, is not how the world works.

There is still a good role for unions, unless you are a billionaire.

Unions *DID* provide a much needed service when they came into being.

However, once past that, they just became bloated, political, self serving money sucking entities that care more about self sustainment than the workers.

They are more a hindrance than a help in this modern age.

And over the past couple decades, I've worked more contracting, so, I am perfectly capable of negotiating my bill rates, and paying my own medical, benefits, etc.

Any reasonably intelligent person should be able to do the same....and if doing W2, they should be able to negotiate their salary in the same way. If they're good, they'll get good pay and benefits.

The article said the old contract is about to expire.

If it expires, it cannot be in force.

If you are minority female Federal Govt., you never have a worry there really. If you even hint at a lawsuit of that type, they'll happily pay you to stay home for the most part, but won't outright fire you.
