this was the main catalyst for me to dive into mac: a unix terminal. that and the instant wake from sleep.
now that i have some games on the mac, it adds value to it as an os. if wine didn't break so easily or companies developed for linux, i wouldn't need mac at all
I'm surprised this hasn't been addressed, the tin-foil hatters will be up in arms with the government thinking of putting electronic metering (tracking) devices in everyone's car.
I have an E71 with S60 and Skype on it works great. Before skype was supported on it I tried fring, the chat was good but the VOIP was laggy, as if the phone couldn't handle it.
+1 for E-Series
yeah, I agree, I won't buy it because I don't like it.
In fact, I publicly announce here and now, that I WILL NOT buy anything that I DON'T LIKE.
Thanks Jeff, you've opened my eyes!
All sarcasm aside, pretty much everyone was expecting something to compete with the kindle -and- netbook/tablet pc's, ie. running a full OS X, not a supersized iphone, hence the disappointment on the iPad
If the record industries can do this, how long until an individual can convince the government that he should get paid for possible losses due to household robbery or carjacking? (yeah I know, never, they'll call him communist in.5 seconds)
This is corporate communism
with all the teenage girls already fantasizing about sparkling vampires, do we really need to feed their imaginations with this?
or is this a new era of teenage pickup lines: "I heard you like people who sparkle as a result of the sun hitting on their skins... baby, I emit my own light"
I had a Nokia (candy bar style from early 2000's aka the immortals) that fell from a 4th floor. Sure the battery, body, and covers went in different directions, but put together again and it worked.
Seriously, if they wanted to make a real tough phone, they should've sided with Nokia.
well, 1 second of footage = 6,000,000 frames / 30 fps = 200000 seconds
that would mean a 55 hour movie of a lightning strike
it would also mean a sports replay that would last well into next year
so many people don't understand the EU MS antritrust case. It's not because it comes with the OS, it's because it's bolted onto it and cannot be removed without crippling the system, because it is the only way of downloading updates on demand.
You don't see the EU bitchin at Apple for including Safari on every mac.
I think the big deal here is not wether IE is a good or bad browser or if it comes with windows, but the fact that you can't have a functional (bare with me) version of windows without it. And by functional I mean that it is up to date, something you can only do with Windows Updater thru IE.
Not only that but you can't uninstall IE without hindering windows (any more than it already is).
I haven't tried uninstalling Safari from my mac, but i'd bet i'd still be able to use my mac without problems.
Cause where it the fact that it "comes" with the OS, well then, OS X should ditch Safari or include something else, no?
This guy made an excellent post of what the EU Antitrust case is all about

I live in Puerto Rico and humidity here tends to be around 60% during the day.
We have some equipment that doesn't work well with such high humidity, not exaggerating, we empty the humidifiers 2-3 gallon bucket twice a day.
I've thought that in case a hurricane came upon us we could use that water (not for drinking) if we get our electricity before water service comes back. And if we really needed drinking water we'd just need to boil it.

don't you think that such UFO files would be hidden on a network far below from earth's surface and even farther from the internet? i'm even starting to think that there was -no- hacking and that they're covering up some hard drive failure or lame virus they didn't fix right
it actually is a cell tower

If the mallet is inside a vacuum inside the sphere, its dimensions are irrelevant because it won't be producing any sound waves.
It will create vibrations that will travel and make sounds on the outside
And you can suspend a sphere with a electromagnetic field.
which would act forces upon the sphere, possibly constricting/altering its resonance
Heck, it wouldn't be that different from a brass ball hanging on a string getting hit with a heavy stick.
More physical dimensions might be interesting though.
solid vs. hollow. less/more mass on the object

what if you're a birdwatcher/scientist snapping pics of urban birds?

yes, people who don't know what synergy is (or that the concept exist) are constantly puzzled at how my cursor hops from computer to computer
