It is really what the user can handle. If a menu was extremely cluttered with useless items, then there would be an issue. If menus adapted to our usage pattents that would be an improvement, look at the menus in Office XP and how they show only the most common entries at default...

If Blizzard is trying to do to Warcraft III, what BroodWar did yo Starcraft... Good Luck. They are missing their time as Warcraft III did little to innovate unlike SC. For that reason, it may just be better to tap into the SC users and release something good, like a well designed SC2:)
It is more of a trend with Expos to get commericalized rather than development. On the other hand, the conventions have remained relatively similar as places to develop ideas...
