I would say thank you to USPS, but I presume that if they did draft a spec that they didn't intentionally specify to under-weight packages.
At any rate I just used one of those kiosks yesterday, and I'm not particularly concerned that it took my photo. I was just happy to get out of the post office in under 10 minutes...
I have been using Thunderbird since probably the 0.3 release and I find myself recommending it all the time, but there is still one bug which has not yet been fixed which seems crucial to the interface.
Basically the issue is that a lot of emails have incorrect date/timestamps in the header and if you order your messages by Date it sorts it by the Date Sent in the header rather than say the Date Recieved to your email server. The temporary fix (for me at least) is to order message by "order recieved" but this can create a huge mess when moving messages between folders because the moved message now has a newer "recieved" datestamp. Without using this method, all of the spam and junk emails show up throughout my inbox because the dates/times in the headers are inaccurate.
It has been reported here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21603 3
I am just assuming the developers don't know/realize why this interface issue is such a problem, but I am really hoping that someone will address it soon!
Hopefully I did a good enough job describing the problem. If you've seen it or struggled with it, you should recognize my description. Finally, I want to graciously thank everyone on the mozilla team for putting out such quality programs that I actually _can_ recommend even to people who think that IE _is_ the internet, and I am not trying to discredit the hours put in by the dev's!
I support this theory. Now I haven't seen every episode of jeopardy, and the format does seem like it's getting looser with more pop-culture questions, but having a whole round with all Seinfeld questions was a little bit suspcious.
"Somehow" it leaked out that it would be KJ's final jeopardy (pun intended) and somehow that final jeopardy plugs the Seinfeld DVDs during the whole episode. Funny that one of the most-watched Jeopardy episodes (don't know if this is confirmed or not) is also the one where they plug something the whole time...
BTW I enjoyed watching KJ and I enjoy Seinfeld, I just think it was pretty damn suspicious.
I agree with your ideas, except for getting the "Dark Tipper" or whatever Kevin Rose calls himself now. He may know something, but his "super cool hacking tips" generally are nothing more than some simple social engineering or a windows "hacking" utility download. Don't even get me started on the screensavers since TechTV merged with G4 (ugh)... But I digress.
I truly hope this magazine makes it (no-pun intended) and if you are interested, be sure to check out the newsletter where they'll send you more information. With any luck this will turn out to be a usefull magazine in todays world where "PC Magazine" seems to dominate the bookstores.
I was amused while browsing around and reading about these wonderful products - when I saw the "Top 10 Cool Things about Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition" here . Vis C++ 2005 is so damn cool that it has 14 "cool things" instead of just 10. Each of the VS 2005 products has a Top 10 Cool Things list, and only 2 actually have only 10 "things" (Visual J# & SQL Server), which leaves me wondering, are VJ# & SQL not COOL like the others or are they just cool, while the others which have anywhere between 12-14 things the definition of uber-cool. Don't even get me started on the use of the word "things" when you could easily use a word like "features" or another word that actually has meaning...
Lame. If you say it's a list of 10, just put 10. I doubt these products are SO TERRIFIC that you can't keep a simple list down to 10 reasons to use it. Or here's an idea, if it grows beyond ten, then lets just call it the "Top 14 Cool Things about ".
Anyone who has browsed kazaa recently (not me, obviously;)) -- has surely noticed a dramatic increase in those files which play the first 20 seconds or so and then fade out or turn into loud pops and screeches (possibly designed to destroy speakers?), along with the other factors alread noted - people become more willing to pay for a song on something like iTMS for $0.99 rather than hunt for a 1/2 hour to find a good quality version of the desired song.
Ok, I'm an idiot... for that I guess I deserve to be modded down, since the map in question is area 51. Doh!

"We're sorry but we don't have imagery at this zoom level for this region. Try zooming out for a broader look."
Although I'm being somewhat critical, I still think the satellite photos are a cool feature...

Thanks for writing the code!
So when the scale weighs my package heavier than it actually is, I'll know who needs to give me a refund ;P
I am an idiot. Correct Link
Messed up the link to the bugzilla page. Here is the correct link: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21603 3

Good old /. where you can always count on seeing the same thing at least twice.
