Even on older hosues with out that, it's pretty easy to strip off about 2 inches of the outer insultaion and then use clips taht can puncture the inner insulation without breaking the wire. 2 clips later you've got a dial tone. However watch out for being seen......homes are usually a bit better guarded the pay-phones:)
DARK HELMET: What the hell am I looking at? When does this happen in the movie?
COL. SANDERS: Now. You're looking at now, sir. Everything that happens now is happening now.
DARK HELMET: What happened to then?
COL. SANDERS: We passed then.
DARK HELMET: When?
COL. SANDERS: Just now. We're at now, now.
DARK HELMET: Go back to then.
COL. SANDERS: When?
DARK HELMET: Now!
COL. SANDERS: Now?
DARK HELMET: Now!
COL. SANDERS: I can't.
DARK HELMET: Why?
COL. SANDERS: We missed it.
DARK HELMET: When?
COL. SANDERS: Just now.
DARK HELMET: When will then be now?
COL. SANDERS: Soon.
Problem is if the person who created the original pseudo-religious right-wing pro-bomb-the-hell-out-of-country-X email didn't limit forwarding then it won't help you. Seems to me most people making that kinda thing wouldn't set the "no forwarding" flag.
Ok, this seems a bit "off" to me. The total entropy of the Universe (or Multiverse or what ever you call the whole system) should be DECREASING thanks to thermo-dynamics. If it's increasing we have more energy then we put it. SO if entropy is decreasing, how can we have all the "universes" growing further and further apart, that's INCREASING entropy! I skimmed the article and didn't see an answer. Until they answer that i'm not convinced!
It wasn't my lawer it was that of a small buisness that I knew the owner of. I don't know if there was an appeal, but the judge (who I would assume was un-connected with the dealer) said that it didn't violate the letter of the law. The guy sold exaclty what he said, a computer RUNNING at a given speed. It's not on the level, and not right, but it's not illegal. Judges are bound by the law, not personal feelings.
They can't change it too much, because they don't want to bounce off the atmosphere. You go too steep you burn up, to shallow and you bounce off.:) Also the shuttle can't "fly" it's like a brick with really stubby wings, even assuming that you could come down in such a way that heat wasn't the problem, you still need to be able to land.
I do see your point. There may have been SOME options, but with the clock ticking, and very few materials to work with, it probably wouldn't have saved them.:(
Actyually, having had expeirence with this, it's not "fraud".....and I can explain why. This dealer advertised and sold a machine of a specific speed, they didn't sell a system DESGINED for that speed. I know someone who got taken by buying some overclocked machines, when this small buisness owner attempted to sue the computer dealer, the judge threw it out, sayign there was no fraud. If he had said it was a system DESIGNED for that speed it would have been fraud.
Notice the one thing missing from that artice, a clear, workable plan. Even if they HAD decided to rescue them:
1) There were no other shuttles ready to launch, and none could have been preped and launched in time
2) The only other space agency in the world that had put a man in space and returned him safly is the russians. They COULD have had a launch ready in time, however they can carry only 3 people back. They would have needed at least 2, probably 3 to make it work. That they couldn't have done. Note: They coulve have launched 1 and then moved the rest of the crew to the ISS and used the life boat, AND left 1 extra person on the ISS. However then you have 4 people on the ISS which is rigged for 1 - 3 and NO life boat and it would be several months till that was replaced. Oh yeah, the shuttle was also in the wrong orbit to dock with the ISS, but that MIGHT have been ok if they had enought fuel.
3) The shuttle can't dock with a russina craft with out the arm, which wasn't on board, it would hve been VERY difficult for them to get 7 people from the shuttle ANYWERE with out docking (if you miss where your going space can be a long slow death)
4) They CAN NOT have repaired the shuttle.
Now I admit that IF NASA had decided that the shuttle was dead and started working with what they had they MIGHT have come up with a workable plan, NASA's got a lot of really smart people. However that article is by now means a blue print for saving them. I should ahve been more accurate and said NO KNOWN WAY to save them, because it might have been possible, we'll never know.
even good kids miss up really big. ie: there are no good kids
I'm sorry, but that's bullshit. Yes kids make mistakes, some of them really big. But that doesn't make them "bad kids". I also hate to tell you kids don't have the market cornered on making "big mistakes". I do agree that parents need to take an active role in kid's lives, and that SOMETIMES an invasion of privicy is necessary, but by and large if parents know if they have a "good kid" or a "bad kid" and know how much to trust their kids. If you always treat your kids like "bad kids" and always watch every little thing they do, and are always there wiping their ass, they will never grow up to be responsible, self-sufficient adults. Yes kids need supervision, but they don't need the life sucked out of them.
I know someone will say it, so NO i'm not a kid who just wants to be left alone, i'm an adult who was treated as one even when I WAS a kid, and am a much better adult for that.
Isn't hindsight a great thing? If they had known at the time that their analysis wasn't good enough do you really think they would have used only a spreadsheet? They much have thought that it was ok. Not to mention that even if they HAD said "it's dead" there would have been NO POSSIBLE WAY to save the crew. No matter how the numbers came out, once the foam hit the shuttle and caused the damage, it was naver comming home, and it's crew was going to suffer that fate with it. It was a tragic accident, let's LEARN from it, not point fingers and look down on people who did what they thought was the right thing!
Even better some night take one of those 5 foot lone florecent tube light bulbs (the kind in most schools and offices) and hlod it under the power lines....it'll light up. I've seen this done with the HIGH power lines. It's freaky.
I would like to see manned spaceflights continue, but I suspect that with all the thigns they are finding right now, that we will probably never launch another shuttle. The US government decided a quarter of a century that we wanted to have the world's only reuseable space craft. I have to point this out, but 1-shot equimpent is much cheaper and more flexable for this type of job. You use the ship once and never look back. No matter how much the say it's not, age will ALWAYS be a factor is the safty of this program. Also, i'll point out that rockets are no longer the "way to go". There are many ideas for new launch systems: space planes ships that use magnetic induction track and "shot" up and several other ideas. The shuttle program NEEDS to go. We need to look into using 21st century technology for the space program, not the continually re-vapmed 1975 technology that we use now. The space shuttle was a marvel when it was built, and at the time no-one could have seen that a reusable system would have been more expensive and labor intensive then one-shots, however it's day has come and gone. I hope that the US decides to develop new systems before 2012! I would suspect that if we start launching shuttles again, we will lose another group of amazing people to space within 18 months of re-starting the program.
The only thing wrong I see is 2 wrongs don't make a right. You have no finincial loss from their spam (your ISP might but you legally don't). They might have a legally recognized finacial loss. SO if you both DO end up in court and are both found guilty...they have to repay the $0.00 they cost you, you have to repay the X numbers of thousands of dollars that they say you cost them. Might not be what you want.
Unless you zip each file individually. The compression is only slightly less then doing it as a single big archive and an error only effects the 1 file in that zip file. :)
Yeah, but then you could take that verison cell number and port it to a sprint or t-mobile phone. I think land and cell lines will relamin seperate for a while for 1 very good reason. It's illegal for telemarketers adn the likes to call cell phones. I doubt that anyone wants those 2 databases intermingling.

Man, I wish I had mod points because that is the funniest thing I've read yet this week!
Exactly. Who cares about the banners, now if it was a spammer then I would yell and scream!
HELL YEAH!
:)
That's what i've been saying for a while. Then Panasonic came out with this puppy
Quick, everyone smap your senators and ask them to make spam illegal!

You did read the part about the BUS needing to be different too didn't ya? If the FSB don't also change, they would be violating the agreement.
Does this include those that have a "radio" edit?
That's great until some thearter starts coping and selling the DVDs.
Yeah, but can it produce the 1.21 GIGAWATTS that the flux-capacitor needs?

Let me guess, you missed the Godzilla w/a Mathew Broderick. After that I KNOW that there is such a thing as too much Godzilla!
So, what are you hiding?
