I guess the introduction of CDs and bigger did a death until bandwidth has caught up, a shame as I want to see all those fmv games make a come back via download...

I wonder if/. ran a story saying "Cisco routers cracked to run unofficial firmware - rip up your Cisco support contracts now*" or similar, it would get hit with a cease and desist faster than a speeding lawyer.
But, just because this is about games, the editors feel its 'okay' to promote piracy. Which is really just what this post is all about.
If all these homebrew guys are such loyal PSP fans and great coders, why don't they release their cracks with a block on running PSP ripped games, thereby protecting the success of the console they enjoy playing on?
That'd be a decent thing to see (right up there with alien motherships, flying pigs and world peace)
Tekken rounds are a minute each, how quickly do buses turn up where you live? And you can't play your PS3 at a bus stop, so compromise a little will ya?
Just dug Tekken DR out for a quick blast and am staggered by how good it looks and moves. Can't wait for SoulCal. (Pats spot where Dreamcast used to live)
On the other hand, films now hitting 10 years old (so should be hitting online rental services soon):
Fight Club
American Beauty
The Green Mile
Sixth Sense
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Magnolia
Big Lebowski
Saving Private Ryan
So, its not all that bad!
Crappy shovelware games do not cost $10m to produce, therefore they only have to sell a small number to break even, I think this $10m figure is in reference to higher-production value "AAA" titles and if you follow the Hollywood model for that you want one smash hit out of four!
Using YouTube as a nostalgia trip, I've seen many artist come back to 'life' from the combination of fan power and the Web. Careers have been revived, arenas filled, records sold - all money in the bank. But now its being taken away, those fairly narrow opportunities are reducing every day this runs on, all done by the people who are supposed to help artists generate money. Something is badly wrong

"Anyone can find a fan page, maybe even the original artists and kick back in nostalgia mode, old albums can be purchased (money for the record companies - a good thing), even re-released (even better), a lot of acts are touring now, who without the net to spread the word would be sat on their arses."
Being going for ever, may I quote the almost obligatory Blackadder:
Melchett: Ah, yes, the special mission. At ease Blackadder. Now, what I'm about to tell you is absolutely tip-top-secret, is that clear?
Blackadder: It is sir.
Melchett: Now, I've compiled a list of those with security clearance, have you got it Darling?
Darling: Yes sir.
Melchett: Read it please.
Darling: It's top security sir, I think that's all the Captain needs to know.
Melchett: Nonsense! Let's hear the list in full!
Darling: Very well sir. "List of personnel cleared for mission Gainsborough, as dictated by General C. H. Melchett:
You and me, Darling, obviously. Field Marshal Haig, Field Marshal Haig's wife, all Field Marshal Haig's wife's friends, their families, their families' servants, their families' servants' tennis partners, and some chap I bumped into the mess the other day called Bernard."
Melchett: So, it's maximum security, is that clear?
Blackadder: Quite so sir, only myself and the rest of the English speaking world is to know.
Yep, but 5% of games make up 60%-ish of all sales and these big hitters are going to be in that 5%. If they fail (to sell in the shops, but perceptually fail with low review scores), then the PSP will suffer.
I hope the PSP has a fab year, but my point still stands!
After seemingly a year or longer of negative vibes towards Sony's little console, today was a big day for the PSP. Announced at Sony's Destination PlayStation retail event were:
Motorstorm (Arctic Edge)
Rock Band
Little Big Planet
Assassin's Creed
Tiger Woods '10
Madden '10 (With PS3 connectivity)
DiRT 2 (Codemasters)
To make the PSP more female friendly comes:
Hannah Montana in a purple PSP bundle
The Petz range (Ubisoft)
So, no original IP announced (as promised by Sony a while back) and there will be a big struggle to can these monster franchises into the diddy hardware. However, assuming they can pull it off, then you have lots of potential for new sales, great bundles and lots of existing PSP owners dusting down their machines.
On the other hand, all it will take is two or three of these to get middling review scores and fail to ship in numbers and you can pretty much stick a knife in the PSP in its current form. Even if the vaunted 4000 model does arrive, it won't be enough without a HD display, massive internal storage (8GB min) and a powerful hardware upgrade to revive the fortunes of the console. more on me blog - http://goffee-freelance.blogspot.com/2009/02/good-time-to-be-psp-owner.html
Add to this our current aircraft carriers with no aircraft for them, and our future aircraft carrier that can't take the aircraft being built for it, we rock at this Navy stuff!
Use Natal and a touchscreen, do you get a consumer-priced version of this > http://apcmag.com/selling-windows-7-this-should-do-it.htm That'd make for great PC gaming fun, never mind these weiner consoles

Hmm, plenty of Google results for "great sponge migration", but none for "great slime migration". Your time has come slime, your time has come.
This story happened, what, 8 hours ago? Jeez, get over it already and watch out for the next scary sh!t to happen.

And it'll help sell tee-shirts. Lets face it. those old quantum "I heart strange entanglement" tees were really lame!

Ray-traced strippers? Kinky!
The reply: I, for one, welcome my now slightly distant overlord
This Jimmy Page is left intentionally blank
Since Wii and PSN stores have game points cards, the shops will sell those instead of games, even have booths in-store for DSi, PSP downloaders!
Nah, just a case of When Pr = oops; get new underpants
A simple "No thank you" and maybe a box of consolation chocolates would have done it!
Obviously, if you could edit /. posts, I'd remove the link but its out there now, like a festering sore to ruin your day. So sorry.
these are just a tiny number of new PSP titles.

>>RAF Harriers are currently deployed to our carriers,
And that must cheer the Royal Navy up no end!
>>The new carriers will be ready before the new aircraft.
Precisely, the Harriers will be retired before then!
