Sucker! Your parents were the ones with the good taste after all. Neil Diamond and The Carpenters were masters, and any serious musician who's not brainwashed by teenage trends will tell you that.
Salute to you; you're absolutely right.
People who can't think strategically need to grow the fuck up before they do something dangerous, like, leave the house. To vote.
The thing is, Sony has no right to tell another website what they may or may not publish. Sony even trying to tell a journalist what he may or may not write about them is unethical. Bullshit. There are no "ethics" here - this is about _toys_ and _money_. Toymaker Sony tells a website, which only exists to run free ads for toys 24/7, to play ball. But they wanna act like brats and bite the hand that feeds 'em. Why? To get a little scoop (a gain on their competition, Joystiq, to get more hits so they can charge more for ad-placement). In doing so, they blow their access to the crumbs Sony throws them. It was a gamble, but essentially a dumb move in the long term.
Nobody's curing cancer here. Just pushing toys. It amounts to nothing.
"Who said there's no use for your old IBM "M Series" keyboards anymore?" What the hell?! Anyone with sense knows that the Model M is the best keyboard ever made. C'mon!
Stock _brokers_ are salespeople. They have no reason to know anything about good trading instruments; they just need to push whatever financial product their company wants pushed.
I can't believe nobody's mentioned Microvision retinal-projectors yet.
The most interesting thing in Cringely's "Shoes" article was the conjecture about Apple not bothering with crappy lil' video screens and jumping straight for the obvious killer - projecting the video straight into your eye.
If Apple could make screens passe' for portable use, that would be a huge coup.
What a bummer. Phrack was the "news-zine of record" for the h/p scene.
After ErikB quit though, I dunno who was even running it and it seemed to drop out of the picture (no offense). No more big superstar presence at the helm.
Well, I hope somebody that really has the drive to do a newsy 'zine takes over.
As they used to say on Hee-Haw, "Saaaaaaaaa-LUTE!"

ha. Yeah, I use mine all the time. It's a low-end Palm from like 2 years ago, $150, 2 megs of RAM or something, who knows. I never sync it to anything other than to back the stuff up now and then.
I bought it when I moved to NYC, and there's no way I'd be able to get myself around town without it. Everytime I go someplace I might wanna find again, I'll add it to the address book. It's got all my contacts in there, sorted, and then I use the memo pad constantly for notes. It also has all my computer account info in it.
I've got some games on there I don't use, not much into games. The only app I've added to it that ever comes into play is the NYC subway map thing, that's great.

You're talking nonsense. Apple IIs output color composite video out-of-the-box, and typically had RF modulators on them to connect to color TVs.

You wanna know about trading, talk to a trader.
Right on to that. Randy Newman is a cornball hack; Jobs would've been right to can his crappy tunes.
Hooray, somebody knows Music Biz 101. This question shouldn't have even been asked.
That's why you take your grub in via backpack or your girl's purse.
Yeah MacWrite is great... and it was rolled into Apple(Claris)Works a looong time ago.

>being happy depends on being in circumstances >which would actually make you happy
Bullshit. Being happy is about how you react to your circumstances. You choose to be happy or not.
I'd bet money you're clinically depressed. Get some therapy.

Maybe the 'extra stuff' is a checksum?
