    Lets face it, Star trek just isn't as good as it used to be. Maybe they should take a break for a while. Perhaps the gap between the original and Next Gen made it that much better. Give science a time to catch up, so the plotlines are a little less ridiculous.

    Yeah, you've go this nice all in one unit and one third of it becomes obsolete. A all in one pvr DvdR device makes sence, but why put in a gamesystem that will be obsolete in a few years?

    Not trolling, but essentially usability is a poor reason to pay more money. I am much more willing to learn how to use something more difficult if it saves me money. Why do you think I started using linux?

    You can get parts cheaper than an assembled pc. That makes perfect sence. Dell, Gateway and others have to Pay for it to be assembled, shipped, marketed ect. In addition to that they must make enough to pay for the lights, executives, tech support, and all of the other bills they pay. So yes individuals that do not have to pay for all of those things can build pc's cheaper, but not at the volume that any major pc manufacurer does.

    To correctly allocate resoucres is to know with 100% confidence the outcome of every possible allocation. How many people die of starvation while we try to solve aids? How many people die in car accidents when we try top solve cancer? Only with a godlike timeless perspective can you or anyone judgbe the allocation of resources and defintly state wheather we made good choices or bad. what if our investment in space technlology pays off big as we are able to divert an extinction causing comet from smashing into the planet.

    Well, I think that the other people on the website addressed all of linus' concerns regarding EFI. I certinaly respect Linus' opinion, but he's not God. He's not the only smart man in the world. It is ok to disagree with him.

    Then please explain to me where the edge is. What is the basis for the comment in the blurb? Nasa alreadly has 2 orbiters at mars, Last touched down 9 years ago, has sent probes to every planet and the sun, and The Esa has sent one to mars ( and also one to the sun If I remeber correctly).

    Oh, I understand now. I think.

    'defending, in one breath, the SCO suit, the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, and the Supreme Court Decision in the Eldred vs. Ashcroft case.'

    Is about Darls original letter? That would make sense, except its a quote. From what exactly? I don't know. Its almost as if that was the title of darls letter. But it wasn't.

    Note, I never said it was incorrect grammatically, just that it could easily be misinterpreted (which it can be).

    From the blurb it sounds as if bob young is pro Sco. "defending Sco lawsuit" Sounds as if he is defending the basis for the lawsuit. Did anyone else read it that way, or have I relocated by brain to crack island?

    I'll even risk my Karma on it. The Slashdot communioty needs to be able to point out ways for the /. editors to improve. Making sure that there is a link in the blurb to the story mentioned in the blurb is sorta important. Don't ya think? Perhaps mr Coward, was a bit terse in his language, but honestly there are quite a few posts already that ask for the real link. So if it takes a few sarcastic, but on topic, barbs to motivate them, so be it. There is no better motivation than sarcasam. Except perhaps for a well written piece on the need for sarcasam. ;)

    Ok, I'm willing to accept the possibility. But other than eyewitness accounts, where is there any documentation of any of the flights. Remeber, According to "eyewitness" reports we've been visited millions of times by aliens. Just look at the roswell incident to see how inaccurate memories often are. Not only did he not realize at the time that it was something that should be recorded, but none of the eyewitnesses did either? You must admit, that is a little hard to believe. Not imposible, but enough to require further documentation.

    I guess that is the question. I don't think that they do, but after thinking about it I think that History has shown us that they do. Ok, but how can you get your rebuttal heard without starting a flame war? Looking at our political system, and everyone elses for that matter, I don't know if anyone has ever figured that out. Stupid Society.

    Exactly. The original article may have been flaimbait, but it really didn't require another article to point out all of the obvious flaws. Even if it did, this author could have avoided sinking to his level.
