    What would you call an app that is targeted for windws phone 8 and uses windows phone 8 features? I would call it a windows phone 8 app. That app will not work on windows phone 7. It is an accurate and true statement. saying it your way is just needlessly confusing and stupid. I think what you would like people to say is that very few applications will be written for windows phone 8. Therefore, it is not an issue.

    I second Kdevelop. I use it at work, its fast, lightweight and has all of the features I need from an ide. There is one crazy bug still in there that causes a random crash when hitting a closing bracket }, but it doesn't lose data even if you haven't saved for a while. I hit that maybe once or twice a week.

    QT Creator is good too, Kdevelop is just faster for me.

    No, Linux is not a good platform for games. All of these tweaks that valve is making to the drivers are an indicator that the drivers are immature and don't provide the same level of performance as they do in Windows.

    Seriously, don't use the default port for any service you don't have to. It will drastically drop the number of attempts. Most kiddes out there seemingly don't know about more sophisticated scripts that can identify services on non default ports.

    I'm with you up until the end where you say "If you think your Ideological Opponent is evil then you feel justified hurting them in one way or an other.". I don't feel that is the case at all with most people. I think it will motivate people to completely miss the logic of the opponents argument, but most people won't actually hurt them in one way or the other.

    Yes, this is banking without any regulation. The FDIC does some background checking on banks and steps in when there is trouble. In the absence of such a trusted third party performing due diligence, you the individual must perform the same level of investigation to determine if its a trustworthy source for depositing money. The reason why they are stupid for investing or depositing in this scheme, is that they didn't do that research or even recognize the need for it.

    Yeah, *sigh*, that's what my dad does. The thing is, the cheap printers suck out of the box. They jam frequently, their install cds include crap ware. I gave him a new laser one year for a present, he returned it because he had just purchased a new printer a couple weeks ago. Inkjet just isn't worth the hassle. IT really isn't

    In a very real way all creationists are boogeymen. There isn't a single kind of creationism that they all beleive in, its more of an unfounded disbelief in a theory, than any specific belief that can be argued against. Failure to deal with evolution in a rational, objective manner may be a precurser to simular faults of logic when applied to other areas. The key word there, being *may*. People are actually pretty good at compartimentalizing and rationalizing their life.

    However, I would expect a study would show that a greater proportion of people who do not believe in creationism to take up science.

    Laser isn't as expensive as it used to be.

    For around $100 you can have a BW HP laser.

    Color laser is closer to $ 170. But most casual printers don't really need color, they just need a readable printout.

    No, technincally speaking, that is not fair use. Fair use is only if you are making a backup of your copy for your own use. It does not allow you to transfer a copy to another party.

    No, Mr Smarty pants, an IT manager wouldn't use the hosts file. If its facbook is already being blocked appropriately with the appropriate tools, then what's the harm in allowing it to be routed to localhost? If facebook is not already being blocked appropriately, what is harm in allowing it to be routed to local host?
