CoP added a lot of doors that can be picked by thiefs to advance in quests (you couldd open them with a key, but it ment killing some mobs, including ones who cast doom on you and getting lucky to get the drop, while a thief could just pick it), as well as traps that can be disarmed.

They will find it no more a hardship to jam whatever the EU sends up there than they would flicking the switch on the GPS system. you know I play both FFXI and WoW and to me the cartoonish stuff of WoW looks worse than FFXI. A lot of the CoP areas are very vivd and beautiful, its just if your lacking in skill (cause honestly it doesnt take a genius to beat Promivions which is all you ever really need to do to get to most of the areas) then yeah you dont see them.
As a expantion CoP was excellent, but you had to be a good player which was the best part. 2 monkeys and a lvl 75 could beat Zilart but CoP required you to actually know how to play to complete the missions making it very challenging. The sad part was 80% of the players ended up being found to be idiots who want everything on a silver platter which is why its looked down on, but in a month with a good crew I managed to go from diablos to sea only occasionally playing so it wasnt that tough. Heck the hardest mission of them all, the battle against Ultima and Omega we beat first run.

Also the mapmaker for CoP (which IMHO has some of the most beautiful areas, much better than the original or zilart expantions) is the head programer for this one so expect even more areas to be much more expansive than the original maps where, since this guy knows how to push the PS2 platform.
As of now all but III has made it to the US shores and the numbers being different only matter to begin with when your talking about the carts which only diehards ever do. as it is now III is being released to the DS so all of them will infact be in the US.
And X:2 was done in such a way to let people know it was a sequal to X. Basically if its got a roman numeral, its a game, if its got a arabic number at the end, its a sequal to that series (which only counts for one game to begin with and a crappy one at that)
As for it comming out for next gen. they havent even anounced they are even planning XIII and XII which is comming out by the summer certainly isnt going to be next gen. IX never came out for next gen it's self even though it was released after the PS2 came out so there is no reason to release it for the PS3 expecially when its basically going to be a PS2 game.
I credit that promotion with the reason I play RPGs now. Super Mario and Super Mario 3 was great, but DragonWarrior kept me glued for months even AFTER I beat it.
well it goes to say, FFXI is a PS2 game, not a PC game. It was PORTED to the PC which is why those features exist. There was a actual need in Japan for them since at it's release people didnt even really have home computers to the numbers they do 2 years later (and Im dead serious about this home computing was NOT big in Japan when most homes are barely the size of your bedroom)
The thing is, for many JApanese players, its still the case. So you cant just dump it.
Seriously, it seems they are picking at issues that the whole point of a beta is ment to solve. Right now FFXI isnt available for the 360 nor will it be for a few months still. They dont even play on the normal servers but a server called Hydra which is specifically setup as a Xbox360 ONLY test server. Of course the interface is going to suck they are still trying to meld SEs original interface (which BTW is designed in such a way so those people who DONT have live can STILL play and not ment for people who do have live) to work with M$s interface.
Will there be issues, of COURSE there will be issues. Is it dated? Well last I saw Ultima is what 10 years old or so and still being played? Is it for everyone, probabaly not the normal American 360 players but then general opinion is it wasnt ment for them nor are many MMOs in the traditional sense since they have a want for fast pace action akin to what SoE did to Star Wars (and we all know how well that was recieved by true MMO players)

Well there is more than one link, the idea is comming from the backstory to Wind Waker (a VERY VERY VERY underrated game simply cause fanboys couldnt get over fucking graphics which IMHO where badass anyway) Basically the world of Wind Waker you find out IS Hyrule, but a Hyrule that Link failed. At somee point after OoT a Link or a ancestor of his fails to stop Gannon, and the land is flushed of everything evil by the gods themselves, thus the flooded Hyrule.
Originally Twilight Princess was to take place after Wind Waker, Now we know it takes place before. So the general idea is THIS is the one where Link despite everything you do fails and Hyrule has to be saved by the gods leaving The Wind Waker to be the end of the story.

you also got Final Fantasy III (for the first time ever in the US) and CC comming out for the DS, both of which are being completely redesigned to make use of the touch screen. Nintendos not pulling back any punches with its system and its hurting the PSP exactly where it hurts most.
In addition to being ridiculously expensive, it was later decided you couldn't paint your car with it, since it would complicate things if law enforcement needed to locate your car
