  1. Only thing is Apple isnt Microsoft. on Ready For the Big Mac Virus? · · Score: 4, Insightful
The few random vulnerabilitys that have even made headlines have been snuffed out in a week or two by Apple themselves in Security Updates. And even they usually required the user to have done something in order for the vulnerability to even be a vulnerability.

Im not saying it couldnt happen, but one of the biggest reason Microsoft is such a virus fest is because its just easier to exploit the system and Microsoft takes weeks if not months to patch it. Apple sends out patches almost every 2 weeks if not more, and Apple users unlike Microsoft users, the bulk of which just have no clue, tend to actually patch their software on a regular basis. Once a vulnerability is found, typically its patched before anyone even has time to exploit it, some of the current crop of Windows viruses have been because of vulnerabilitys known about for years in some cases.

there is nothing making Safari built into the OS where you couldnt do things without it, unlike Windows and IE. Infact I know a lot of users who use Firefox instead of Safari.

It was widely thought that Bill use this to threaten Apple that if they pulled IE support they could pull Office support too. Everyone knows Microsoft would never do such a thing though cause they actually make a large chunk of profit from their office release, much more than you would think.

Once the demand is over (like with the mini) they only make as much as they need. Some systems (like the eMac) are built as they are ordered.

They know perferctly well the forcast for their things, but then you wouldnt have a demand for the item.

Now where there is something Europe likes, it buys it up, but the fact is there are very few titles actually IN Europe to make it almost a moot point. Nintendo in particular does not release games in Europe, the DS there has 1/4th the library that it does here and in Japan, which is why its kicking the PSPs ass across the board here, but being kicked there. Sony on the otherhand released as much as they could to save face from there horrable US and Japan sales.

The fact remains though that Europe alone wont be enough for Sony to justify keeping the PSP running in the long term.

Obviously its not about the box, cause Xbox would outsell the PS2 and Gamecube would outsell Xbox and a PC would outsell them all. So its simply the games which unfortunatly for PC gamers means they wont see 1/10 what the systems do since very few system games translate at all well to PCs and vise versa.
