there is plenty already around, quite simply at the time guns where used to hunt and there was no full time army, it was hard enough getting a real full time army to form in 1812. The ammendment was to allow men to use their guns in civil deffence againts a agressor of the US, hence bypassing the fact that shooting someone was a crime punishable by death (ie in a militia for civil defence, you where shooting the enemy and thus shouldnt be punished)

it has since been perverted to mean right to carry arms period, a unjustifiable reason in this day of age, and worse the complete opposit of the intent which was to make murder legal in a war.

Maybe, but the framers ALSO 1) felt the constitution should be changed often 2) didnt want a full time army 3) couldnt even fathom not needing a gun to hunt 4) the handgun 5) hunting for "sport" and not substiance and many other things we take for granted. just face it, the law was NOT ment for how it is used today and its a major perversion of our rights to safty

A troll if I ever saw one^ especially since ADOBE isnt APPLE.

The DRMA has its problems but the truth is it was enacted for a reason everyone seems to forget... PEOPLE WHERE LIGITIMATLY STEALING MUSIC AND NOT FOR "BACKUP" PURPOSES!

Obviously the legislature went to far, but it was because of us in the first place that the DRMA exists, we couldnt justifyable argue our case because the truth was no one was downloading for back up period, we where all stealing it to play and not pay.

Worse things like cracking the DRM ruin our case. Rather than going along with it while we argue it in courts we break the law, and SHOW the morons in charge why they where right in the first place rather than showing that we can be trusted.

The truth is DRM will win in the end, and we will all lose if we continue to battle the way we do. They have more money than us and are staffed with programmers who DONT care about DMCA or the DRM, they just want to lock it down tight. Pretty soon you will get code encripted with military levels of encription, or stuff coded to damage your computer when you try to bypass it, why? cause they have more money to devot to the effort.

I have said this a million times, we have to step back and come up with a new battle plan if we ever think we are going to win in the end against the unfair practices of the other side.

alas there are too many hotheaded geeks and whiny teenagers who would rather take the "hackers" approach that I dont think it will happen, despite the fact that breaking the law the way we are doesnt work in the real world. the DRCM is just not a hotbutton issue for most people

its kinda like how you cant do anything to a cable modem, you do your toast. You purchased the RIGHTS to the modem but THEY own it.

Even if you buy it outright, if you read the contract it stipulates that they then own the firmware to the modem thus you cant change that.

it plays off the underlying fact that people dont realize a lot of things they "own" they really dont own but buy the access rights to.

And I will use the standard Windows user line given to mac users, why? there are more PC users than mac users so PC support was a eventual outcome, and it's Apple so mac support is a must, but why does Apple have to support Linux, especially when they might want to persuade linux users to Apple BECAUSE of the fact it has better support from companies but has unix underpinnings so you can still run your linux programs after a few tweeks

Its a known fact the goverment of france really had no problems with Germany invading as long as they got to keep their wealth. Kinda like how France was all upset we invaded Iraq because we took away all of there nice contracts with them that where paying the French wealthy millions of dollars. The French goverment parades around like they are the peoples country, when they really are just as bad as our shit stain of a presedent, in it for the greed.

um jackass, mod poster down for not reading the whole post... even with inflation ,the cost to build something when the manufacturing prosses has been payed for after the first 2 -3 years means the product should go DOWN in price, not up. Inflation is present, BUT the initial cost of a car is the manufacturing prosses NOT raw materials, I know I live in a town whos entire buisness is the manufaturing of GM trucks...

In raw materials, a Silverado costs 6,000 dollars, the cheapest model is over 20,000... and most of the consturction is actually robotic, a lot of the line guys really just watch and guide parts that are welded in by a robot.

So with the machines having been set up almost 12 years ago at our plant and the creation of a new truck being simply a new program, how does inflation factor in to the cost of the car being WAY MORE THEN PARTS + LABOR SHOULD EQUAL...

    Mod this guy up!!!!!

He's EXACTLY right, its not the cost of the tech, but what the fucking manufacturers make us pay... look at a decent new car today... A car that would have been 12,000 - 17,000 6 years ago (the Caviler which is going off the market now) NOW costs 20,000 fully loaded! Thats 3000 more for the EXACT SAME CAR FULLY LOADED 6 YEARS AGO. THAT BULL, even with market run up it should cost LESS because the cost of manufacturing has already been payed for... your talking about a frame thats over 20 years old (the J body design of the Cavi, and the Sunfire) and a body clading thats almost 10 and it costs MORE now to produce what is essencially the exacty same car if you where to look at a 96 (first year of the current body clading style) and a 2004. HELL most of the parts are interchangeable. If people started buy the cheap cars like the Aveo or the Echo's THEN the manufacturers would get it in their head that people dont want to spend 28000 on a car thats really worth 17,000 in todays market. And even they are overpriced!
