When somebody says something like "Thanks to... ignorance", it should occur to you there's just a smidgen of a possibility they're being facetious. While I too have had a knife held to my throat, that's not what matters, the distinction is important to me because I consider myself a linguist, and don't need to be robbed to appreciate why the distinction is important.
Worry not! Free dictionaries around the world are blurring the definition as we speak. Another pair of words that used to mean different things, but now mean the same thing, thanks to good old fashioned honest-to-god ignorance. See also "literally" vs. "figuratively"
What's your opinion on Palm's version? I've had two WinMo phones, one an HTC touch (of which I believe the consensus is "crap"), and a Palm Treo 750v, which I almost grew to like.
I managed to find a version that was very stable, but it was still a dog slow OS to use.
The tools suck. MS doesn't have a nice widget set like Apple. You want anything pretty or intuitive that doesn't look like it's straight out of windows 2000 you either have to build it yourself or dish out and pay for a 3rd party kits (which would be fine if the pickings weren't so lean).
I've dabbled with xcode and what's available for the iphone (I have a mac and itouch, just limited time to play), and what's available is a world of difference. Plus they have UI guidelines which I see as a good thing since consistency is a very important part of HCI.
Stalking existed long before GPS and EXIF. By your logic, men wouldn't have taken their wives to the supermarket / cinema / whatever for fear of some thug following them home to find out their address.
I don't believe it. The last time I so much as suggested here that Amarok possibly doesn't shit gold ingots, and I got unanimously shot down in flames. What a reversal, and about time!
A 500 foot run would be out of the Ethernet spec anyway. You'd get 'late collisions'.
And just as importantly, a single collision domain, making maximum throughput even harder to attain.

...except for the bit where they're free to abandon Apple's products the instant they get sick of them, and find something they perceive to be better.
I managed to find a version that was very stable, but it was still a dog slow OS to use.
Another thing you'll already be used with Windows Mobile: "It you're phone that sucks, not our OS"
This.

The iPhone actually uses Google Maps, FYI. 3rd Party GPS applications come with their own maps, however.
Did you try the most obvious place for settings on an iPhone, Settings -> General -> Location Services ?
Good point, thank you.
Rather than quoting him, why don't you just go and reread the post, where you'll see it's quite obvious he's only interested in version 10.20.
The name of the image is a somewhat terse description of it, that could be used. Not that anyone will, of course.
He did specifically say 10.20 in his origial post. Time for bed, grandpa.
Most importantly, you can uninstall Amarok 2.2 as well! Don't forget to delete it's huge database, too. Just like Amarok does, at random.
Re: Kino: There was a time didn't suck?
Wha!? They've done things to make GIMP more 'like PhotoShop'? Those things have certainly eluded me.
I agree, I prefer the interface in all the OSS examples you listed.
LOAD "*",8,1
Well done! You got the joke!
While you're correct, over 2000 days is still no less impressive.
Oh, you're forgiven, but you'll still burn in Hell.
I was going to say "about time", but (even ignoring the fact that Handbrake is dropping support for DivX) it really is far too late.
Governments care about anything that lets them exercise control over their population.
