  1. AIAIAI TMA-1 Studio on Ask Slashdot: Best Headphones, Earbuds, Earphones? · · Score: 1

There can only be one set of headphones that satisfy your needs:

    http://www.aiaiai.dk/tma-1-studio

I have the non-studio version and while they are amazing headphones, after one test listen of the Studio version, I had to preorder immediately.

They satisfy every one of your requirements: They have great noise isolation, even frequency response (they're studio 'phones made for mixing/mastering), ridiculously comfortable and extremely durable. Even if the frequency response is not 100% perfect to your taste, they take to EQing really well and will literally vibrate your skull before they distort. They're extremely efficient (good for mobile devices) and can play ridiculously loud without even breaking a sweat.

The only downside is the cost: $269 with a mic ($249 without). But they're seriously the last set of headphones you'll ever have to buy. They're that good.

And they look cool as fuck.

Even texting without looking at the phone is hugely distracting, because your mind is on the message you're writing and not on the road.

You may be looking at the road while texting, but you're not actually taking it in, and if you need to react, it takes a significant amount of time for your brain to change focus from the message to the road.

So for your own and everyone around you's sake, please stop texting while driving.

I don't care how important people think they are, 99,9% of all phone calls and 100% of all text messages and emails can wait until the destination is reached and the car is stopped. Make it illegal to use any kind of phone (even with a headset), tv, microwave, GPS etc. while the car is moving, and give out special permits to people like doctors who genuinely need to be available 24/7.

Stock traders and other businessmen can suck it. If they're really that important (they aren't), they probably already have a chauffeur.

It wouldn't display right until it warmed up, very much like if the vertical hold on a CRT failed. Finally it completely gave up and wouldn't even turn on anymore.

I opened it up and located a couple of very obviously blown capacitors in the power supply. I replaced them with about $5 worth of good-quality parts and it's been perfect every since.

I really like this monitor, I've taken the time and calibrated it properly, it's great for images, text, movies and games and I'm so relieved that it only took a couple of hours and a few bucks to bring it back to life.

I have a better idea. Let's wait until you have read Das Kapital (there are multiple very good English translations available), because you obviously have no clue at all about what socialism is.

Socialism, at its core, is the communal ownership of the means of production and communal management of the economy. That's the simplified version, but nowhere does it state that citizens should be oppressed, or that there should be a ruling party that controls everything. Quite the opposite in fact. If you read Das Kapital, you would understand that the basis of a socialist society is to empower the workers by making all of them owners of the means of production, thus preventing oppression from a social and economical elite.

Everything else that the USSR, PRC, DPRK are widely criticized for (with good reason!) are the results of tyranny and oppression, caused by the fact that their leaders never bought into the socialist philosophy themselves, but only saw it as a way to gain more personal power.

Do not blame the philosophy of socialism for the greed and failings of a few human beings. They are only human, after all.
