Please allow me to shed some light on that "It would be nice if they paid taxes, too" rhetoric.
When the corporation takes in money and reinvests that money in new projects, that doesn't count as taxable income for the corporation. However, regardless of what taxes the corporation is or isn't paying, the salaries of the executives are being taxed to the full extent of the law.
For example, suppose that Microsoft, our favorite company, takes in 10 billion dollars this year. Suppose that Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer take home four billion dollars. The corporation is, in essence, a protection for Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer from personal liability for the company. In essence, Microsoft's money is Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer's money. When Bill Gates pays his taxes on the money he takes out of the company, he pays tax on that, but the way you expressed your opinion, it sounds as though you think that Gates is making all kinds of money that isn't taxed when nothing of the sort is true.
You say RadioShack specializes in screwing employees? I think that it gives new meaning to their "You've got ambitions, we've got positions." poster. positions, heh he heh
It seems I remember in Star Trek, there was a blind man on board the enterprise who could only see with an electronic camera of sorts. In one episode, I believe that it was hacked so that the enemy was seeing everything he saw.
Imagine what you could do with that kind of snooping power.
Just wait until the next MyDoom virus comes around. It will give new meaning to the "legion of drones" that 31337 h4|X0r5 use to do their dirty work. Sending spam was only the beginning.
It's April 1st, and in other news, Stephen King was found dead in his home at 9:00 this morning. Whether or not you are a fan of his work, he was truely a great American icon.
Does anyone here imagine the RIAA investing in some scope-equipped rifles. Perhaps they track down the dead pigeon and look up the destination. Then they sue the poor sap for PIRACY.
An Anonymous Coward writes, "A Reuters story reprinted at Forbes.com is an interesting read, saying that 'Slashdot will shrink unless we start to see new stories'. It talks about how the ratio of original stories to duplicates is dropping dramatically, but it also goes on to say that upcoming dupes (SCO Licences, MS FUD, Patent Litigation, New Mozilla Version) will be successful only because their predecessors were."
We need paper receipts. What regard to what have I heard that said before?

This text ought to come up when you click on that stupid "Tell me why driver signing is important." link on the driver update screen on MS Windows XP.
I hate to be fatalistic, but honestly, how many NVidia customers do you think will even notice this story?
There are two things in this world that I absolutely can't stand: people who are intolerant of other cultures AND Canadians.
This is what SCO license demand letters were meant for.
Your game will go on the $10 bin right next to "Sim Garbadge Man"
You insensitive clod!!!
Imagine what you could do with that kind of snooping power.
When I say that this involves Microsoft, I somehow parsed this is "Microsoft will unevil copy-protection software."
MS bails out Sun
Sun sells soul to the devil.
Bill said Java sucks.

Wasn't there a time when 1GB of RAM would have been overkill?
How about they don't install Real on OEM machines because they don't want their customers to have to deal with their stupid spyware / adware crap.
