  4. Re:Xbox sells like crap... IN JAPAN! on Sony Announces PSP Launch Date · · Score: 0

Obviously the video game market is a more complex beast then just being able to pirate software; but my point is simply that the ability to easily pirate software on a system does not seem to have much correlation with profit or market share. It certainly didn't hurt the original playstation and it's not hurting the xbox. Maybe Nintendo needs to focus less on assuming it's customers are all greedy criminals and spend a little more time working on their 3rd party relations.

Mine used to too, until dvd players hit the 50$ mark. :) then it was more important to save the poor PS2 from over use and the dreaded laser problems. Although I haven't had any issues with it since I got it, and it's been 4 years.

I agree, Sony has made a very big mistake going with proprietary memory technology. Change UMD to a mini dvd format, burnable on any dvd burner and change the sony memory stick to SD Cards that go for 60 CDN for 512MB and you've got yourself a killer system that would sell like you wouldn't believe, and let's face it Sony's strength in the home console buisness is partly due to how easy it was to mod the original playstation to burn content for it. I know that was a huge selling point for the guys at my highschool. I don't know if it was the same everywhere but I suspect it is partly responsible for sony's dominance in that era and their strong position now.

I think the attractivness of multipurpose devices is that they give the illusion of more value for your money. This was certainly the case for the ps2 when it was first released. A $500 game machine sounds a bit pricey but a $500 game machine/dvd player/music player sounds like a good deal; especially at the time. But once DVD players hit the 50 dollar mark that illusion was gone. I used to watch dvd's on my PS2 but I can't imagine anyone using their PS2's for that purpose anymore. I think Nintendo is very smart to focus their energies only on games and I don't think they're given enough credit for it. If only they would fix their 3rd party policies they could really make some noise next time around.

Yeah the Xindi were probably the crapiest aliens ever in all of star trek history. I also think it was a mistake to go back in time to crapier technology because they are limited in their ideas by previous shows, instead of coming up with crazy new ideas about where technology will go with the knowledge we have now. Not to mention the horrrrible cast of Enterprise. Captain archer is the worst Star Trek captain of all time. He comes off as a real knob, you know like a real arrogant american who thinks he owns the universe. And oh my the tool of all tools is the chief of security that actor just drives me crazy!!

This is pure speculation but from my understanding sony's console was orginaly supposed to be a cd add on to Nintendo's console much like sega cd. Could it be that many 3rd party devolopers had started devolopment on games for this Nintendo addon and once Nintendo decided to can it were left in the cold. Enter Sony deciding to go it alone and a bunch of ticked off developers with half finished games designed for the console and you've got yourself an equation for success.

You can't even say that sensorship is "wrong". How can you even argue that you have rights? Who has granted that you should have rights? What makes you so signifcant that you should not be killed now or that the act of terminating a creature that has arisen by chance is wrong? Is it not just chance that would have caused your demise. There can be no rational thought without God.

Every single time Hubble images an object more than 5000 light years away, it PROVES that God did not create the universe 5000 years ago

It proves no such thing. You are absolutely correct that if the compromise is made that the absolute accuracy in the depiction of time-periods as documented in the Bible is incorrect then no scripture can be trusted. Which is why the Biblical Scholars who make such a claim must be wrong and do all Christians a great disservice. I strongly object that this is a unanimous position among biblical scholars. You will have to provide evidence of such a thing. I would also point out that the big bang theory has it's on light time travel problem as explained here "http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v25/i4/l ighttravel.asp"; however, I do not believe that you would be so quick to conclude that the big bang theory has been proven wrong simply because this phenomenon goes unexplained. Any scientific understanding of origins will always have opportunities for research--problems that need to be solved. We can never have complete knowledge and so there will always be things to learn. My point is that Hubble images have not proven that God did not create the universe 6000 years ago.

Humanity benefits by eliminating the Fundamentalist Religious Forces that have held our race back with ignorance, bigotry, and endless conflict.

That is quiet an accusation to make. I would like to point to the blood stained century of evolution as explained here: http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v20/i3/bl ood.asp. You would do well to understand that not all self proclaimed "Christians" truly follow Christ. The real problem is a fallen world filled with sinful people. It might also do you some good to learn about the biblical origins of science as explained here: http://www.answersingenesis.org/tj/v18/i2/origins. asp.

;) I will not argue the scientific value of Hubble as it clearly has much value to offer the scientific community.

The question you have to ask your self is, "are you willing to give Microsoft complete power over the web browsers people use.". It should not just be a question of "does it get the job done conviently". Especially when getting it done conviently means locking customers into microsoft software that does not comply with the web standards set out by the W3C. It's plain irresponsible to support a company that refuses to comply just so it can dominate a market. Could you imagine if electricians started putting non standard electical sockets in houses because they were easier to install, but with the side effect that people were forced to use products made by a specific electronics company that held the plug pattent and refused to allow competitors to use the plug? It would be irresponsible of the electricians to go along with such a scheme. Now replace electricians with web developers.

Tracking multiple objects at once and such. Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm no expert on the subject but I believe males are generaly more adapt in these area's. And from my experience intruducing females to games they tend to get frustrated quickly with the controls. Games that I have had success getting females involved in are games like karaoke revolution, and "The sims" seems to be extremely popular with the ladies. I think perhaps the way in which users interact with games is as big a proplem in attracting females as the actual content.
