    that is irrelevant. If we are going to treat companies like ppl (i.e. able to put money into politician's pockets, etc), then they should be able to be killed. These ppl and stockholders need to make sure that companies are MORAL AND RESPONSIBLE.

    no, they are NOT stopping. They are still building new coal plants. Coal provides over 88% of their electricity. The only thing that they are doing is converting their coal to methane (while dumping the CO2) and then burning the methane.

    If America, and ideally all nations, will tax all goods based on where they, or their worst part, come from, it will causes nations to clean up.

    Basically, those in power will always cheat. German cars appear safe until new tests show that they are at the bottom of the heap on new tests. IOW, they are very poorly engineered, but with corners cut so as to not harm sales . Germany screams about AGW, but they will continue to cheat, just like china does. This is why we need to monitor the co2, other emissions via sat, and then tax all goods, or goods with parts , that come from high emissions area. After that, let local gov decide how to make cuts.

    Good points. At first, I thought that this was going to be a BS article, but in the long haul, this actually could get some interesting discussions on this. Not so much here, as much as in the mainstream press.
    How can a woman that is making the argument that this will objectifies and kills relationship, not say a single word about the most basest of sex robots that exists today and is used mostly by women?

    Cars rarely go more than 100 miles. As such, there is little reason for 99% of the trips.
    OTOH, the one place that hybrids SHOULD be used at, is in large passenger, and most commercial vehicles. Yet, that is not where the focus has been on hybrids.

    Ok, here is a 4 seater sports car which does 0-60 in 3.8 secs which after reading the description of the car, makes it sound like it will run about $250,000-500,000. Who really thinks that a slower car, that is easily 2-4x as costly, is going to compete against Tesla? Seriously?

    In 3 years, the new roadster based on the Model 3 frame, will be out. Musk has said that it will blow the doors off ludicris speed, i.e. 0-100 km in 1.x secs. And for around 50-60K.

    Yes, but all of those years, the CO2 was being absorbed. The problem is that it is a CUMULATIVE issue. Even back then, Europe and China were basically filling up the bottle.

    coal mining was happening before the time of christ. In fact, there are chinese pix of it from before 2000 BC. IOW, China was burning coal during the times of the pyramids.

    As to CO2, it is a CUMULATIVE issue. Europe and CHina have flooded the world with coal burning CO2.
