    Actually, it is very possible by focusing on increasing efficiency. For example, we are almost pure LED lighting at our house. In addition, in the near future, when I replace the furnace, we will go to a heat pump that makes use of 9 KW solar cells.
    That is how you lower your energy use.

    Now, with that said, I think that France would be much smarter getting rid of their fossil fuel plants, which they have.
    At the same time, they really need to push electric vehicles so as to quit importing oil/nat gas from Russia, Iran, Libya, etc.

    and yet, other than thermal pollution, all of those issues are due to running OLD reactors that should have been replaced by now, with NEW gen IV reactors.

    basically, France should be pushing AE, but as a replacement for their coal plants. In addition, they need to grow their electricity, so rather than cut nuke plants, they should be replacing their coal, AND expanding electricity output via AE.

    If you go look at powerball PRIOR to the change to the new management company, few of the wins were in the west. And in fact, only a couple of the major wins were in the west. They were always in the east. Technically, it is possible. Statistically, it left a lot of questions.
    Since the new company took over, wins have gone out all over the place. As such, it appears that this group is being honest.

    Cobol on System/3, assembler on Series 1 and MUMPS on pdp-8.
    All were EXPENSIVE systems, with the System/3 and pdp-8 requiring cold rooms. I was impressed by the series 1 for not needing a cold room.

    testing does NOT require destruction.
    The expected load was 1 ton. The part was supposed to handle 5 tons.
    All that you have to test for is 2 ton (which is 2x what is expected). And that is NOT destructive.

    Actually, the strut was designed to hold 5 tons, but failed at 1 ton.
    In addition, it takes multiples struts to hold the tank in place.

    In a normal flight, the LOX is more than 50% of the weight, which is no longer needed.

    The real problem for these companies hiring from India and others, is that they ARE paying low wages for the workers. That makes them susceptible to being bribed by other corporations and nations.

    If anybody takes a look at the major companies (target, home depot, nemum marcus, etc) that were cracked over the last couple of years, nearly all had windows, and all had outsourced to India. Indian coders are paid around $8K / year. That means that China or Russia can easily bribe somebody for 80K, which is 10 years worth of salary there.

    While I agree with your earlier posting, I think that you would have to agree that Putin has put Russia back on the old single party track, with central planning, etc.
    Russia looks a great deal like the USSR of old, which is why many of the old eastern European nations that were break-aways, are concerned about Putin.

    buying a car now, locks you into the current AND FUTURE grid. Basically, the grid is cleaning up all the time.
    By 2020, Coal will be less than 1/3 of the electricity in America. In fact, it might be less than 25% since Wind is quite a bit cheaper than coal.
    Now, all that is needed, is for America to re-do Nukes so that they are cheap, small and safe and can replace the remaining coal plants.
