Hence the reason why I oppose Cap-n-trade, but support a tax on ALL goods predicated on the amount of CO2 that came from where the good was produced.

And I seriously doubt that China was anything to do with AGW other than generating it faster.

  9. Cap-n-trade will fail; it will make things worse on Droughts Linked To Global Warming · · Score: 2

Seriously, cap-n-trade works IFF all nations participate. Well, Not only is USA not participating, but the worst polluter, china, will not either. In fact, if USA does, then it is CERTAIN that China and 3rd world nations will actually make a grab for American businesses by quickly building up electricity (probably following the chinese model of illegally subsidizing it and then dumping the goods on international market). And what is the fastest way to build up CHEAP electricity? Coal plants without ANY pollution control (in fact, china has nearly all, if not all, of their pollution controls turned off).

So, what is the best solution? Have nations tax ALL goods (local and imported) based on the CO2 that comes from the nation where the final assembly and the primary sub-components (depending on size of item, much even want several of the largest sub-components). Ideally, we would tax based on CO2 emissions from a nation on a per sq km basis. With that approach, it forces ALL major nations to lower their emissions, while nearly all 3rd world nations are all ready at low levels. However, with this approach, it will reward those nations that actually take the initiative to drop their emissions, while punishing those that choose to ignore it. That includes the nation that invokes the tax itself.

America is to launch OCO2 in 2012. It measures CO2 emissions. Rather than playing guessing games, this would simply measure CO2 into a nation's border, as well as CO2 OUT of the nation. That approach would allow us to find exactly how much CO2 a nation generates and not worry about the source. That is up to the nation to solve. They may wish to kill coal plants. Or they may elect to kill cars. etc. However, this approach combined with per sq km basis, allows a nation to decide if the issue is a business issue or a ppl issue and then adjust accordingly. However cap-n-trade and combined with per capita is about the worst idea going. It is already failing in EU. They are losing businesses to China who will continue to cheat all the way through this.

ah, just read the actually rules. They want the algorithms to assemble this, not the upfront sieving. That makes life more sporting, but actually doable.

Some interesting work around will have to be done. This is actually a traveling salesman issue since they combined multiple documents together. One easy short cut is that the blades on a physical devices will have various widths. If two pieces have similar widths, then it probably came from the same blade area. So, the trick here is to get these fixed in terms of size. Once you have added these up, then the largest amount is the ceiling of documents. Technically, the lowest amount is the floor (can not go lower than that). The answer is likely close to the floor, and not the ceiling.

Once you have the document count, then you can partition these out to make comparisons. As you figure out one document (due to graphics), you then know the bin orders to use to build other documents.

That will create a sieve type action in which the lighter stuff will go higher and towards the top. At the top have an opening in which the pieces will blow into . What is needed is to get these to individually go into a small 'pipe', but individually. Once in the 'pipe', it can be streamed past multiple high speed cameras. The best solution is to run this several times and make sure that you have all the pieces. Once that has occurred, then you can assemble the pieces via algorithms.

Basically, this is a nothing more than chromatograph that uses weight and size.

American fleets are required to not look at age, etc. In addition, they can no longer insist on the no-marriage, lose job after age 30 or 40, etc. In asia, they have the same old rules that America had back in the 60's. Europe is fairly similar to Asia, but not by design. For example, you will find that in europe, most of the FAs are NOT married. The norm for many nations is that a woman works when single, but quits upon marriage and certainly quits while raising kids. That is why when you fly german Lufthansa, it is male FAs. Once the women are in their late 30s and wanting to return the european airlines will NOT hire them.

As to American fleets, the older housewife FAs fly the short domestic routes, so that they are home at nights. The internationals pay a BIT more, but not enough to entice them. Most of the internationals are junior FAs, OR have no kids(BTW, this is the exact opposite of the cockpit; those guys have SENIORITY). So, you will find that most of the FAs on all international flights are pretty decent, though at the moment, Asian and middle eastern fleets are younger and nicer.

Finally, I have to say that my Dad is retired AA capt. while my sister is working at USAirways. I grew up flying AA but rarely do it anymore for domestic. The same is true for United. I used to prefer Frontier, but now go with SouthWest. The FAs ARE friendlier and happier and it reflects in how ppl are treated. But for going europe, I take United or American 777s. Best plane going with great service.

BTW, skip ryan air. THEY SUX.
