WHile I agree that no man should be treated like royality, the issue here is how rough is the job of POTUS. Well, look at all the presidents who have held the job (WHILE BEING PAMPERED). Each of them are aged 2-3 years PER year. Look at how haggard W is coming out. And the man was a drunk, coke head (even coke seller if you believe ppl from Austin), and a failed business man prior to being gov of texas (a relatively easy job since it is has little power). IOW, 3 items that normally age a person does not compare to what W went through with this. Then think in terms of Clinton, Poppa Bush, reagan, Carter, etc.

I agree with the parent to you; Pamper the man; we need him making the BEST choices possible. After all, we have seen the results of bad choices of what is still today, the most powerful nation.

With that aside, the one thing that bugs me about Ares * is that Ares I is in the same class as many other launch vehicles, while Ares V is the absolute monster. OTH, Direct starts with a 50% bigger launch vehicle over the ares I, and then moves up to 2/3 of the Ares V. It is possible to actually move later from the Jupiter 232 to something bigger. Basically, the idea fills more of a missed void. Interestingly, it still leaves open the use of Spacex/Orbital. The reason is that both of these will be MUCH cheaper to run than the jupiter. In addition, it is POSSIBLE for Musk to still pursue a Ares class or bigger @ a cheaper costs.

It is more work, but it is still possible to smuggle weapons on-board aircraft (in fact, far too easy). The same is true of Mumbai. Assume that these guys want to attack again. So what? They simply rig an encrypted wifi close by and then use it for themselves. VERY easy to do. In fact, they can even set up some systems where they are 5KM away and use an antenna to beam to the top of the hotel. From there, plug in various antenna's just prior to the attack. Algae is COMING on line NOW. Cellulosic ethanol will most likely fail before Algae owns the AE market. The reason is that Algae can be grown 3d, whereas Cellulose comes from a 2D. How different is it? Solix has already achieved production of 1,500 gallons an acre per year at a test plot in Fort Collins, and the company is expecting yields of 2,500 to 3,000 gallons an acre per year, said Mr. Henston.
In contrast, soybeans, the main source of biodiesel used in this country, yields 50 to 70 gallons per acre. BTW, this is just ONE of more than 5 companies gearing up for this. Take a look at green Gunk.

The tough part about this is that while the oil price remains low, it will hurt these efforts. EVERYBODY, but Saudi Arabia wants oil prices up around 70-90/bl. Saudi realizes that America is gearing up to dump oil and wants price at around 60 for awhile (which is their minimum needed). Of course that is hurting not just our AE efforts, but also Iran and Venezuela. I am not sure that the Saud's care one way or another about these 2 countries.
