    Step outside of the countries that are part of the suppliers treaties AND find a useful supply (like Iran has), and you can do just that.

    So is Iran. I am no fan of theirs, and as long as dippy boy does nothing disasterous, the hard core in Iran will be gone. And even though I am a fan of allowing India access to nuclear material, I think that it is hypocritical and arrogant that we do not allow Iran as well.

    She has GROWN state spending.

    She has GROWN the size of her gov.

    She has GROWN the handouts from the feds.

    She has GROWN debt where there was NONE in the richest state of the union.

    She wants to control at the federal level access to Abortion.

    She wants to GROW the patriot act.

    She has shown that she is as corrupt as those that she wants to replace.

    The ONLY thing that is libertarian about her is that she supports NRA. Big Whoop.
    Nobody is going to be able to take our guns. It is JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Far too much to lose at the poll. All in all, ppl like reagan/W/Palin are the exact opposite of what
    I will take Obama because I think that he is far more likely to lower the deficit spending (though I seriously doubt that he will balance). And I hope that he will pass a number of anti-corruption laws as well as perhaps push a balanced budget amendment. God help us if we get Palin. America truly will be destroyed.

    As we ship our work elsewhere, so goes our wealth. Had we been smart, we WOULD have helped Mexico long ago. Even with NAFTA, we could have brought their standards of living way up, and solved some of our major problems along the way (illegal aliens come to mind).

    My guess is that in the next year or so, America's consumption will drop by 10% or more. The good news is that if EU forces China to keep to their word concerning tariffs and freeing their yuan (it is based on a fake purse), then the dollar will plummet some more and we will get work back.

    is that XO HAD a chance. By trying to work with MS, they had to increase the size of everything, which brings up the costs to the same as most major companies. Now, hivision is doing on the hardware what XO was suppose to do. And I am betting that some others or even hivision will port SOME of the apps over, and then take control of XO.

    Basically, a companies willingness to work with MS is becoming a predictive value of how long the company will last.

    MIPS arch in china? Hmmmmm. Where did we hear about that yesterday.
    China is about to gut the EU and American hardware companies. My guess is that the chip will not be a MIP, but will be the Godson chip. In addition, I suspect that the laptop will be available initially with the slow chip, but will increase quickly to the godson-3 as it will be subsidized by the chinese gov. Smart on their part, but foolish on others.

    and yet, the west has lost it growth, it is bric and 3rd world that has high growth that is fueling china's growth. Even if Intel ties up China in the west on this one chip(and I doubt that they will), they have the entire rest of the world. Intel and AMD are in serious trouble.

    China will be selling the 4 CPU chip for a fraction of what a 1 CPU chip from intel costs. In addition, it has the ability to shutdown all but 1 core, which leads to really low power requirement. China has been taught how to do all this by companies like Intel.

    These chips will show up in small laptops within 2 years and those systems will be sold the world over for under $200. Intel is in BIG trouble in both the short AND long term. In fact, I suspect that Intel AND AMD will be in worse shape than America's steel and car industry within 2 years.

    Back in 2002-4, I worked for a company that developed specialized packet sniffers, that processed anywhere from 1mb (sold to small companies) to 100 mb drops (sold to ISPs) and a specialized box with much higher for sale to several gov. agencies. A simple PC with tcpdump, dsniff or Ethereal combined with a little bit of processing behind the scene can easily process 100 MB drops.

    THere is only one possible explanation; Vista is making inroads, and the botmasters have new openings on it. No other system is growing that fast (vista is being forced onto new systems by MS). And if it was an old base of some system (say XP), then it would grow MUCH MUCH faster.

    I have noticed that the maples were starting to turn in early august. In addition, the aspens here started about 2 weeks ago. Normally, both start about 2 weeks later. Deciduous trees drop their leaves based on amount of light, not on temps. As such, they are fairly predictable. The fact that they are dropping early indicates that less light is reaching here. I do wonder what will happen if China clears up their air of hard core pollutants while still pushing loads of CO2 (IOW, become like America and EU)?

    is that our temps are at all time highs. Yes, it is down SLIGHTLY i.e. a very small local minima, not even close to an absolute minima. So, if there is a correlation to temps the way that ppl like you push, what happens when sunspots increase?

    just do not make me pay for their not having insurance. As it is, when W's admin came in, he ordered a number of homes near the colorado forests to provide their own insurance and told them that the feds would no long provide aid during fires. The reason? Because Fires hit there often. I agree with this reasoning. I think that the feds should provide HUMAN assistance, but not provide aid to those areas hit by common items. For example;
    1. ALL of CA and Earthquakes, as well as southern cal with fires, drought, and mud slides.
    2. Hurricanes running from the carolinas to florida and then all the way to Texas.
    3. Fire and drought in Texas, NM, CO, etc.
    4. Tornados in Texas, Ok, nebraska, illinoise, etc.
    5. Flooding in iowa, ill, missori, mississippi, nola, texas, etc.

    The idea being that if you live in a area prone to a natural disaster, it makes zero sense for the feds to pay to support your rebuilding there.

    The test is good for a cow that is EXPOSED. The 8+ years is for symptoms. OTH,The polymerase test will show a cow that uptaken the prion. I would guess that if the cow was JUST exposed (and not likely to spread it), than it would fail the test.

    Simply put, outsource the test in Mexico or Canada, or even announce that they will QUIT the American growth of beef and will instead start raising cattle in Canada and IMPORT into the USA. I know that I would rather buy beef from a company that is testing. Most importantly, make a BIG STINK IN THE PAPERS. AND LET THEM KNOW THAT IT IS THE F-ING NEO-CONS BEHIND THIS. My guess is that within 1 week and less money than has been spent on this legal battle, that W will give in.
    Gads, the f-ing neo-cons just want to destroy America. They speak about freedom, but regulate everything so that it is advantageous to the big boys.

    The jury/judge system errs tremendously on the side of the defendant, for this precise reason.
    You HAVE to be kidding. The system was built to be that way, but it it trivially manipulated. A good example is the case of Tim Masters from Ft. COllins. He was accused of murder with little evidence and served 10+ years based partially on false evidence combined with withheld evidence. In addition, as a one time Ft. Collins EMT, I saw a lot of lies that were perpetrated by the Ft. COllins Police. What it comes down to, is that the system is ONLY as good as the weakest link. Sadly, there are many weak links (DA NEEDS prosecutions, etc).

    I will also tell you that I have taken a plea for a crime that I did not commit, because a cop lied. He was trying hard to cover up the fact that the other witness there was his GF (he lied and said that nobody was with him; found out later that it was his GF that his wife did not know about). The only reason that I took it was that I had lost the trial and was about to appeal and this would clear my name after a year. In return, I did 4 weekends worth of work and paid an additional $400 (a lot of money back in the 80's) on top of the 200 that I had already paid.
