Calvin: Ha! I've got a great word and it's on a Double word score box! Hobbes: ZQFMGB isn't a word! It doesn't even have a vowel! Calvin: It is so a word! It's a worm found in New Guinea! Everyone knows that!
Doom 3 is more graphically complex/intense than Half-Life 2 at times. And this is all we have today - games don't even have realistic soft shadows yet. This is an 'investment to the future'. Also, some games actually play differently the higher your frames. Also, things like AntiAliasing and Ansiotropic filtering. Compare This. The difference between SLI and non-SLI is huge. If you're a graphics card whore (aka 1600x1200x6AAx16AF), this is the way to go. Now, imagine buying one of these things now. Next year, of course it won't be the fastest thing on the market, but it'll play whatever is out there at blazing speeds. Of course, the kind of person who would invest in this might upgrade in 6 months anyways.
You saw it here first: ATI and NVIDIA will get into a race to see how many GPUs they can fit in one computer/on one card. This will be the new benchmark - out the door pipelines, see ya memory, the new way to go is the "ATI 14 GPU XTREME LAVA HEAT CARD".
The only way they could stop this is to change the firmware to stop the iPod from being used as an external harddrive. And that would be just dumb of Apple to do.
And there's the other thing that bothers me. "I have an opinion about this, so my opinion is therefore right and should be shared by everyone!" What a load of crap. If people like iPods, they'll buy and use them. If not, they won't. Generalizing that "iPods are definatly for lusers" is plain out fallicious.
Besides that, there are no real amazing things about it. But the click wheel was enough to sell me.
What bothers me, especially about the iPod, is the attitude people have of "I like this, so you and everyone should like it too!". If the iPod doesn't sit with you, don't buy it. And tell those people who tell you to buy one to shove it in a hole.
Unless the end user is clueless and actually pays the 200 dollars to release the spyware - especially if it's the nasty kind of spyware that causes windows to stop working if improperly removed.
Man, if only you could make a Zero Wing parody about making a Zero Wing parody! Oh man, I might almost laugh at that.
It has to include a beowulf cluster of natalie portman's hot grits in soviet russia with old korean men. While BSD is dying in the background. CommanderTaco's penis. Breast. My iPod exploded. I for one welcome our new More cowbell overlords.
When can we get some new jokes? Some of these are really old, and most of them are just bad.
In my opinion, the Jedi masters really didn't understand the meaning of balance. I think they meant it would finally stop the fighting. Or, they thought that light (which is obviously right in their minds) would prevail 100%. Of course, they're entirely wrong. Turns out that perfect balance is attained (as we've said). Also, it can be argue that Luke has perfect balance in him - because he sees the darkside, practices a bit of the dark side, but does not become consumed by it. Nor is he consumed by the light.
Probably not, but it's a really sad state of affairs here at SlashDot. More and more it seems how articles are more to plug certain favored people's opinions and products than actually providing a place for intelligent people to have a forum about news items.
Reminds me of the morality in the RPG Grandia 2. Light is the power of creation, Dark is the power of destruction, and power corrupts. All other things such as "good or bad", "right or wrong" are all created by humans.
Because the entire senate obviously reads every single bill all the way through. Because that would get things done faster. End sarcasm. Did the homeland security (or whatever) committie read it? I bet they did. Also, it takes two chambers of congrss to pass a law. How come nobody ever screams about how the House didn't read it? Because asking 435 lawmakers to each read a several hundred page document and understand it in depth might be too much? Considering their rationale was "Get this passed now, we need this today."? How come the Senate (or the house) read and understand that recent bill including RealID?
Disclaimer: I dispise the patriot act and the rationale behind it. I also think our system of lawmaking is broken.
Damn, I sure am redundant. Almost like somebody already said what I said. Wait, no they didn't.
That's quite the disturbing article.

You're the first person I've ever seen say that Microsoft has a Bully Pulpit.
You sir, are awesome.
Well, you see, it's like half of a hivemind.

And where is Gayniggers from Outerspace?
Hey, I'm not a GNAA troll, I actually thought the movie was funny. In a bad, not funny sort of way.
Why can't a GAMING console stay a GAMING console? The reason you buy a GAMING console is to play games, not for a DVD player/wtf.
And, honestly, what new things are we going to see to make it really worth it? Can you really improve on DVD playing technology that much?

Click wheel. The engineering on it is beautiful.

This is not the meme you're looking for.

I wonder how many people just "Foe"d you. I know I did.
...
You must be new here.

I thought the balance was that once Annakin kills off everone, all that's left are:
Dark Side: Palpatine/Vader
Light Side: Yoda/Obi-Wan
Thus being perfect balance.
It's easy to legislate morality when it doesn't effect you.
No, I didn't miss that part of Civics class, dumbass troll. You missed that part of higher education called "US Government 101".
Good thing I just finished the research on some rock-resisting armor (+1).

Weapons research is fine. It's just making sure the right weapons are in the hands of only the right people.
