And there's a plethora of windows programs that require Admin rights just to run. The most bizzare one, in my opinion, is Battlefield 1942, although there are plenty of others, like PowerDVD. Just trying to use permissions properly in windows is a huge pain, if not impossible. I hope Longhorn fixes this, but I've got a feeling that it's just a re-routing of the current problem.
Because a good amount of work went into making that game for other consoles. Architectures are completly different. People have to get paid (usually) to port software to other platforms. That's what you're paying for. If a piece of software runs on both your PC and your Mac, and you want your PC copy to run on Mac, does it immediatly? No.
Although, I believe I just defeated my own argument by remembering when some Blizzard games came with both on the same CD.
Still. You pay for the remastering/remaking/recoding. If you don't like it, don't pay for it. Nobody's forcing you.
Give me 5 years, I'm moving to Japan.
And, I look at it all: It doesn't matter who's in office: dem or republican, left or right, etc. It's all the same people in the background.
There's not enough inflamitory language and lies^H^H^H^Hrumomrs for it to be drudge. Cut Taco some slack. He needs some practice before he can stand up to the master.
I wasn't aware of the total breadth and depth of your post until I realised that, instead of funny, it was rated insightful. Kind of tells you how far slashdot really has gone, huh.
Don't know, but This Site says Oysters have the highest Zinc concentration of any food. So, replenish yourself by eating oysters! No blindness, no hairy palms, no acne, and no schizophrenia1
Ok, Who modded this informative? Isn't that like somebody saying "Here's another mirror for Goatse, and this one includes Jews!" and people modding him up?
So, are you saying that, in order to be modded as 'funny', people are actually going to have to be funny, and not just repeat an age-old slashdot horseburger?
Well, of course. However, the industry would have found another drum machine (probably not as good, because it's roland). However, the 303 basically turned things upside down for a lot of artists.
It's going to be a very short list. Almost anything we call a 'computer' (and that is going to include almost all gaming systems) is going to run - the only challenges you have are
a) getting it to compile on whatever processer you run
b) all types of I/O, memory addressing, etc.
there's enough geeks out there that we can have linux on pretty much anything. Give it a month, I expect Linux on the PSP as well. They've already got Linux on the Playstation 2, so I don't see it taking much time.
I thought that was the point - you had to 'guess' what was real and what wasn't. Although, the rampant ThinkGeek advertising this year really turned me off to what is usually a fun and halarious day. "Scientific American Gives Up" was good, but in the past we've had a lot of real gems. Guess this wasn't our year, or perhaps Slashdot has jumped the shark.

So, we find bugs in MS's software, and call them intentional.
Hand?

I do learn the facts, I do read my history books, and I do watch my politicians closely.
And I'm getting the hell out of here!

That was awesome, but do you got more? SOMEBODY out there's gotta actually record and release it. I would, but damn do I sing bad.
You sir, deserve to be applauded.
Either that, or you have no users.
No, see, that's really a feature - it's a reminder to use the new "Dasen Überklipboard" that comes with it!
(System requirements: 1 GB free space, 768 MB system ram, and your first born child.)
And everybody I know has had a very painful experience with service pack two. I don't understand why there's any positive hype.
It's all about your point of view.
Overlords? Hardly, dude. I tried to tell you - they don't exist!
Well, at least statistically.
I just realised this:
If a word isn't made up, then where did it come from?

Bullshit.

And I don't care who you are and where you're from, but if roland had never made the 303, electronic music would never have been the same.
He's driving an H2.
That reminds me of the old joke:
"Hitler killed 6 million jews and one clown"
"Why the clown?"
"See! Nobody thinks of the Jews anymore!"
It's an obsession with size, plain and simple. Don't make me get Freudian on you.

My favorite, by far, is still "Squant".
