    But having more registers available as well as other tweaks, it will almost always run faster while only using a relatively negligible amount of extra memory. The only thing that uses more memory are memory pointers, basically. A game won't use a lot more RAM because 256MB of textures doesn't magically double.

    Even crappy phones still have an OS. I've had call issues with many different phones, not just smart phones. And many times the issues were solved with... you guessed it, rebooting the phone. Sometimes I even had to remove the battery.

    You're completely mistaken. Cell phones got GPS well after consumer units had appeared, because there were no small GPS chips that would easily be powered by a cell phone battery until relatively recently.

    The reason they could find your location before GPS was a thing called triangulation. They could (and still can on phones without GPS) check your signal strength to various towers to figure out where you are because they know the geographic location of all the towers.

    Bullshit. The Dreamcast was the last Sega console because of a number of missteps by the company, and because developers were scared of it turning into a SegaCD or 32x or Saturn, so didn't want to commit the resources to developing titles. It had nothing to do with piracy.

    Actually, that's part of the problem. What if someone who is completely unconnected to WoW but happens to have the same name as someone who does play? And THEY are the one who gets griefed IRL by some maniac who takes a game too damn seriously?

    I'd think that would end up with more wear on the headlights, what with repeated heating/cooling cycles instead of keeping a static temperature one way or another. Puts a lot more stress on the filament.

    His choices end when they impinge on my right to participate in our shared culture. Disney created an icon with Mickey Mouse. As did Shakespeare with Romeo and Juliet. Only one of them continues to evolve, though, and the other we are disallowed from using at the point of a gun.

    Sure, it's "his choices", but what if my choices are that nobody should drive on the street in front of my house? Do I have that right? If he wanted to keep his music in his control, he shouldn't release it.

    Did the author create his work in a vacuum? Without having any exposure to any other art, ever? If not, he's influenced by the ideas before him. Michelangelo wasn't the first schmuck to think that you could take a piece of rock and make something beautiful with it. He just had his own take on things, an iterative advancement over his peers. But he didn't invent sculpture, or sculpting the human form, or the naked human form, or even the male naked human form. He simply made David.

    If you're doing something as a hobby and some twit comes by and says "Your stuff sucks, and you suck because of it!", yes, you will get a little touchy. If you want customer service, pay them for it. Adobe meets what the customer wants because the customer pays them.

    Really... you are an entitled asshole if you think people who have hobbies should bend over backwards for your problems with what they're doing. Did it ever occur to you that they may have heard that many times before? Or considered it and it really is a stupid suggestion, and by the 100th time they respond to the same inanity, they're a little testy?

    The main issue was that they didn't tell anyone that the big globe in the top-left was a freakin' menu. Seriously... I know many people that it took weeks for them to realize that was a menu that got you into pretty much everything you needed.

    If the rest of the world wants to pay the developers to build that software, I'm certain that many would jump at the chance. The fact is, people get something for free and then they bitch when it doesn't do everything they think it should do, because it's never been something important to the developers.

    Tell me, when you're doing your hobby, say, gardening, what would you do if some random schmuck came up to you and said "I really like peas, and you aren't planting any, so you suck. You should plant peas."?

    Yes, they are. Android has a much more regular progression of signal degradation. Apple's is not so regular, and is much more precipitous.

    I just googled for that, and I couldn't find anything other than that article that said that, nor have I ever noticed that with my Nexus One. If there aren't any other confirmations of that, I smell an Apple apologist.

    It's not because it's visible. It's because bits that stick up tend to break. And the fractal-style antennas that are in modern phones have very similar performance to external aerials. Given the choice between the two, it's a no-brainer.

    Because Apple puts the chains in completely inappropriate places forcing you to use your phone and get service only at the behest of his Steveness. Locked down app store, only Macs can develop for it, gotta pay money for the privilege to do so, only iTunes for proper syncing... but those chains are GOOD for you!
