"What really annoys me is that you can subscribe to caller ID and some numbers still appear as "withheld". It's no surprise that you can pay more to upgrade your caller ID to see those numbers. In Canada anyway."
As a Canadian who write telephony software for a living I can assure you that it is not true.
As an end user (from the EU) you are correct but I believe the main point of this thread is that US based vendors do not have to collect the VAT. They are not doing "trade" in the EU.
Rigged elections made easy?
With no paper trail it will get easier. Four years ago this would have been dismissed as too unlikely but I'm not so sure anymore.
If you beleive the goverment shouldn't be questioned then *you* should move to a country such as China where that is the norm. Freedom lovers can remain.
That's not a fair comparison. A 15" LCD has the same viewable surface as 17" CRT.
The real choice is between a $250 17" flatscreen CRT and a $350 15" LCD

Would have been perfect for this conversion. It was used by console operators running mainframes and as a terminal input device. They used a spinning typeball to impact the paper.

Do you get your turtle back with the DVD?
And Rogers Lite is only $19.95 CDN (Hudson Bay Pesos)
If google add links to keywords on my web site redirecting traffic then that is a hijack pure and simple.
"Lucky, 143 plantiffs seeking only 158,000 in damages. Over here that kid would have been sued for 158,000,000!"
You owe $158 - it's your problem.
You owe $158,000 - it's their problem!
Someone else already did that but MS didn't want to pay the licensing fees.
I think he meant to say invade mars :-)

at some point in the future when we can truly measure the effect the internet has had on history, to see how it comapared to the printing press.
This is the key element of the decision and outweighs the impact of the fine since the fine only represents about 1% of their cash reserves.
I hope the appeals court does not put a temporary stay on that aspect of the decision even if they do let MS hang on the cash until settled.
Shoot, I'd put in $100 to put a **big-ass** ad in the area paper with their pictures saying "SPAMMERS WHO LIVE IN KITCHENER"
It was in the local paper (Kitchener-Waterloo Record) for about 3 days straight. Even made the front page so there is not much left to gain there.
That's not patriotism your talking about, that's nationalism.
"...by pricing it ridiculously high"
Doesn't matter
They have to discount their own selling price by 25% to the ISPs. They aren't going to raise any street prices when cable is in a price war with DSL.
Yep, it's called the War On Drugs.

"If I, a European Citizen, buy a product from your US based company, then that's a trade. Your company is trading in the EU."
I see it as you came to the USA to buy something.
