    As a Canadian who write telephony software for a living I can assure you that it is not true.

    This is the key element of the decision and outweighs the impact of the fine since the fine only represents about 1% of their cash reserves.

    I hope the appeals court does not put a temporary stay on that aspect of the decision even if they do let MS hang on the cash until settled.

    Shoot, I'd put in $100 to put a **big-ass** ad in the area paper with their pictures saying "SPAMMERS WHO LIVE IN KITCHENER"

    It was in the local paper (Kitchener-Waterloo Record) for about 3 days straight. Even made the front page so there is not much left to gain there.

    They have to discount their own selling price by 25% to the ISPs. They aren't going to raise any street prices when cable is in a price war with DSL.

    As an end user (from the EU) you are correct but I believe the main point of this thread is that US based vendors do not have to collect the VAT. They are not doing "trade" in the EU.

    That's not a fair comparison. A 15" LCD has the same viewable surface as 17" CRT. The real choice is between a $250 17" flatscreen CRT and a $350 15" LCD -mhd

    Would have been perfect for this conversion. It was used by console operators running mainframes and as a terminal input device. They used a spinning typeball to impact the paper.
