In many countries there is a set of tests which pretty much are the only measure and the only chance you get. If you do badly or the computer system fucks up you're screwed.
And you actually think that's a good thing? I don't want to live in your degenerate nation.
Does anyone really believe that one in five dollars spent goes to something "fake"?
Computers water down the concept of "fake," since every copy is as pristine as its original. Surely they don't mistake a warez copy of a game or application as 'fake?'
Who would get a pipe that guaranteed a minimum throughput (by throttling you if you hit the maximum) but explicitly spelled out how big your traffic contigency (up and download) was? What if there was no guaranteed minimum throughput? Is connectivity more important to you than high-speed access?
So you have illegal traffic coming from your machine
Well, that's not entirely true. He doesn't know if it's 'illegal traffic' or not. Might as well be a Chinese citizen trying to read an American blog about democ.,,, HAHAAHA, I'm sorry. I couldn't write this a straight face.:-P
That's one half of the equation. The other half is to lower your blood sugar level. Get a meter and after every meal (absolutely everything you eat or drink) check your sugar level. If it stays above 100 for a long period time (about 2-5 hours), you have identified something you shouldn't eat or drink. A level between 40 and 80 is healthy, anything above 80 is unhealthy, 800 is like a nuke for your brain. Read an article on Kuro5hin for the whole explanation.
The GPL puts user freedom above all. Just because it won't let a company work around a loop hole in v2 doesn't mean it's "getting closer to anti-capitalism." I would call it becoming ultra-capitalistic; more rights and protections for users to resell GPL'ed software.
... they "want a cell phone that's just a cell phone and nothing else". Geez, this is supposed to be a place where people who understand technology come...
They usually have a fair lot of clued students at their hands who would gladly offer support in exchange for additional credit [...]
They really don't, of course. The public education system is not designed to produce "clued" students. Everyone's brains is squished to a mix of blind obedience and regurgitation of useless trivia.
I stopped reading there. If kids wanted a lesson in morals, they would ask their parents: "Is it okay to kill injured birds?" Where's the moral aspect in WiiTennis? WiiBowling? Super Monkey Ball? There isn't any.
Who cares if it's art! Does it run Linux?!
Hehe. Yeah, those fuckers. :)
It uses laser instead of radio. See for example http://www.pulsewan.com/wireless/

Just curious.
That wasn't a tinfoil hat, it was Sony/BMG music CD.
The reason for life is life itself. Being alive means to give new life; to people. And ideas.

Isn't the iPhone a Newton 2.0?
They're just doing what every other car manufacturer is doing with SUVs.
He dies.
poop-flinging monkeys haven't been enough!
Not for long. Once the Federal Bank decides to do an interest rate hike, it'll all go to hell -- once again.
SNAFU.
If committing a crime is outlawed, only an outlaw will commit crime!
That'll cost her family another 30c.
