  1. Re:Blame the Boomers on Ask Slashdot: Why Do We Still Commute? (citylab.com) · · Score: 1

I've been working 2nd shift remotely for a number of years - everyone was highly productive because there was shift level oversight online in a chat that all shift workers had to be in, and each tech-stack also had their own chat with an sme - all in chat all shift, along with phone conference at the begining and end of each chift - the job we had was high stress and required the team(s) to work together to be successful, and we were awesome - there were times we accomplished what seemed impossible. I will admit that the group of people hired by my company were all exceptional people in their field, so it could be your company hired duds or- your company never examined how to manage remote workers.

  2. more government funds that religious on Religion In US 'Worth More Than Google and Apple Combined' (theguardian.com) · · Score: 1

"the sums spent by religious organizations on social programs have tripled in the past 15 years, to $9 billion" ... which coincides with W's faith-based initiatives government fund give away to religion - W believed that religious organizations could more efficiently provide social services. As a result, when it comes to charity or social programs, religion may put their name on what service is being offered, but taxpayer money is paying the bill .... Obama renamed the giveaway to "community and faith-based initiative", but a skunk by any other name is still a skunk. There is an industry around filing grant requests, and little to no auditing of the funds. If a grant is under $300,000.00 then self audit is all that is required (religious organizations would not lie in an audit any more than they would not contrive to cover up one of their leaders engaging in child rape).... And it is difficult to get any clear information on how much taxpayer money is distributed yearly under the initiative - or to find out who is getting it and for what purpose.

"pirated" has a negative context that is extream compared the action.
If you say "all of us have violated software licensure agreements or the rights of copyright holders" you would give an appropriate perspective to your subjective observation.
Next thing you know the goons will want to pop anyone around the world who makes a backup copy of their legalley purchased electronic media.
Does anyone ever think about the consumer rights? or are the corporations alreay in charge of this planet.

This gurl fps gamer learned to use guy skins and name when on line. Boys hate getting fragged by girls, but accept a well played game from another guy.
Believe me, you have no idea how many of us are out there.... but come March 16, you shouldn't be too surprised when you hear who is barking orders into a mic playing UT2k4 onslaught.... But, now can you help me with this?
Why do sooooo many boys choose to be 'Satin' in ut2k3?

I have a fujitsu tablet... it is a great conversation starter (if you want to meet people)... and at meetings, I use it for jotting notes, cool doodles, playing inkball. It has wireless networking, so I can also check my email or what's for sale on ebay, or I can read the news on the ezine & ebook reader without anyone suspecting what I am really doing. Batteries last about 3.5 hours (I always carry an extra)... it hasn't crashed on me yet - but when I am at my desk, the Dell workstation(p4/xp) crashes all the time, so I use both the desktop & my tablet (with a keyboard & mouse). Just be aware that a tablet should not be your only computer...it is allot more functional than a palm (got one of those too), but if a tablet is going to be your only computer, get a nice big screen laptop instead. At home I also have a viao laptop (p3/linux) and the gaming computer (AMD/XP) I built.

Flow with the change....tablet for you? not yet...but someday.
