Who really cares if its rewritable or not... if I have 2 gigs of storage with a media that 1.5 inches square and costs me 2$.. I would gladly replace this media when its full... or what not...

I fail to see How this is a Leap back... Its a good leap forward... After all.. It will be eliminating quite a few problems asociated with CD type media.. No more scratches.. Less moving parts to break in the players.. longer battery life... This is an advancement... It will be hard to get people to start moving from cd's to a new storage medium... MP3 storage and mobility could help break down the barriers.

How many times during a movie have you seen scenes that seem to be trown in that have little or nothing to do with plot development and any other aspect of the movie? or Pointless plot elements... This is the result of the Marketing Formula's that degrades the quality of the movie.. Valid elements are being left out to make room for this marketing mess...

Its seems all too common people think money will fix problems... so they trow money at the problem in hope it will go away... or achiving quality...

Saleries of Actor's/Actresses are far too high.. again for the most part Marketing experience says they this actor will attract people to the theater... and if we spend X ammount on advertising we should see this ammount of return on investment as long as the movie doesn't suck too bad... People are confusing the Term Quality... Digital Video is not Better Quality... Its for the most part Better Clarity...

Analog signals are succeptable to Analog interferance and will quickly show degradation of Video Clarity...

Digital Video Clarity is fixed due to digitization. analog interferance into the digital signal will not degrade Clairity of the Picture Quality... Being in a digital format (data)... only a highly affected signal will have data loss which will result is corruption of the picture(small blovk appear oin the screen).. Which the methods used to transport the data are highly resilliant to analog interferance.

Meanwhile... The Video compression used has Dropped Tonnes of Quality of the Video... Instead of colors ranging in the millions its cut down to mere thousands if not less.. Portions of Video Frames are dropped as well to reach high levels of compression. If you look at the background (not the foreground) you will notice a Jumping in the background a lack of detail... Is this Higher Quality? No it is not...This is a Compromise made for everyone... Loss of detail for increased Clarity. and We are Told its better Quality.. when they should be telling us Clairty.

I get a laugh about these new HDTV's touting they are capable of displaying billions of colors.. when in reality color palettes have been drastically reduced... All the major ISP's should team up and create a new Open Source mail protocol that deals with SMTP's flaws that make it such a good tool to send UCE.

The money being spent on Prevention is large enough for cost savings to take place on funding a project like this.. when you really get down to it once 80%+ (Taking a wild guess of the %age of email addresses under the top 10 ISP's "control") are utilizing a protocol that inhibits UCE... general demand from customers will increase and force the stragglers to switch to the new system. But this would require MS to be a highly active participant in the effort to make it fly.

MS has seen to been spouting off that its ready to make efforts to embrace the Open Source Community.. This would be a great place to start.. as Spam Strikes a coard deep in most OS Developers and supporters... This could be a saving grace for MS to show thier new "Clothes" and start to sway the opinion of Anti-MS movment that seems to be nipping at thier heels.

There are a few situations left where I am limited to using email still. Such as Listserv's and similar activities. But disposable email accounts suit quite well for those purposes. It would be interesting to see a few projects take off that allow for Instant Message notification or instant message forwarding abilities to replace email as the only option for notification. But this could to be infected by spammers and thier underhanded practices..

Spammers will be around for a long time.. Thier mediums will change..But hopefully we will see enough mediums to communicate on the internet that are safe heavens from Spammers and thier underhanded tactics that I am forced to resort back the telephone to comminucate with distant people.
