while in voyager it was complety silly and stupid, like the series (and i have yet to hear someone defending voyager), with ST:TNG it was much more sane, they considered the enterprise harmless and ignored them completly, and when they started to do something that the borg didn't like they would get attacked and driven off the ship.

TNG used the borg in many good ways, and didn't OVERUSE them like voyager. ST:TNG was much MUCH more realistic then voyager or enterprise. Those 2 just seemed more artificial and fake to me. ST:TNG ST:DS9 were so much better, thou the dominion war in DS9 wasn't done very well like the shadow war in B5

I would be the charges laid on the hackers would not be theft, corporate espionage, hacking, copyright violations, and such.

Downloading music is much diffrence as its published, someone is offering you a copy (witch is why downloaders are kinda safe and uploaders are not)

Also the money lost by each act is diffrent, vavle has taken a BIG hit in the $$ department because of the "theft", how much (if any) money the RIAA and co lose when a song is copied is debatable and might be a gain.

That is why poeple get all up in arms about P2P being called tehft, but when it comes to valve and sounce code theft they tolerate and join in in calling it theft, its much more like theft and it did cause damage to valve in many ways, unlike P2P.

and it STILL isn't theft, it is a multitude of other crimes, but NOT theft at all.

if this was theft, there would be no such charge as corporate espionage. because all corporate espionage is is "stealing" information and ideas.

Neither is theft. One is copyright violations, the other is corporate espionage/hacking/copyright.

bah thats insane, your right tha punlic schools as they stand are horrid, but your idea of how a for profit system should work is also a horrible idea.

lets be honest, not all kids work hard, hell they are kids and public school is there to force them to learn some basic knowlage (and fails right now) and to allow the poor to get their kids educated like everyone else to give them a chance at a firture. so letting those who dont' want to/can't not to get in is not what we want at all. we want to Improve the quality of the system.

Its really simple actauly, you allow a new kind of school, some kinda "publicy funded private school". where it is paid by the goverment for the number of students it has. ie for each kid the private school company gets XXX dollars. And you ensure that ANY kid from ANY where can attend. no "districts"

What this allows is choice in the education market and diversity. Parents and their kids can now choose what school they want to go to.

Once you have achived this bad schools will have kids leave as parents put them in better schools. and because they are paid PER STUDENT they will lose income be unable to expand and then fail and go bankrupt.

good schools will have more sutdents and if you give a big bonus to schools that get alot of students with high standardized test marks they can get bigger and allow more students.

not only will this improve education it will also inprove all aspects of schools.

This system is much better then the current one or the one you proposed, and i will not claim it as my own as i heard it on "yes minister" a great british comedey series:)
