I agree. One problem I have with Dell is, they usually do not apply their promotions (double memory, free LCD monitor) to their "n" series (systems with alternative OS). So during promotions, a Linux or a FreeDOS system ends up more expensive than a Windows system.

We are an all Linux shop here. But when we buy a system from Dell, we get a Windows system, wipe the harddrive and install Linux.

    Cheers!

You can always get a safe deposit box from a bank.

We keep one set of backup in the office, one in the bank. Then they are rotated every week.

Even if the building burns down, our backup is safe. Although I don't know what to do with them when there are no machines to be backed-up.

Acceleration or deceleration does not depend on distance. At least directly.

0, a->Inf, you can create huge acceleration rates when you change the velocity of an object a little bit in a very short period of time.

If you want a proof, try pushing the brake pedal to the floor when going 5mph. This would create enough deceleration rate to hit your head to the steering wheel.

If you can create a machine (i.e Robocoaster), that can change speeds rapidly, you will get enough acceleration that make you think you are in a real rollercoaster.
