I am sorry but you are wrong. The iTunes music store launched in 2003. At the time the iPod was firewire and Mac only. It wasn't until after the music store launched and the 3rd gen of iPod was launched that also supported windows that iPods became "wildly popular."
And Free Software compliant hardware equals best possible experience - since it will all then work out of the box, with bugs fixed and improvements steadily coming, because you don't need to depend on some third party for everything.
I don't see how this statement can be true. It all work's out of the box? But there are bug fixes? If it works, how are there bugs? And if bug fixes are coming, and they aren't coming from me, then wouldn't they be coming from a third party?
This is very true. The settlement that apple made on the macbook case WAS NOT a class action. In fact, the parties that were suing apple, or their lawyers, said it was "very difficult" to form a class because it was almost impossible to determine who purchased macbooks for the sole purpose of the millions of colors claim. I don't see how this would be any different on an iMac than on a macbook.
Why would you go to the service department to buy a keyboard?
Look, no one likes the name "Genius." Take a survey of them, and you'll find they don't want to deal with the bullshit of people saying "So you're a genius huh?" But mocking the individuals is old, tired, and sad. Since 2001 actually.
I'm really confused. The dell is more expensive, has an intergrated graphics chip, which on a desktop is really ridiculous, and yet its ahead of the iMac? If you read the article you see that Mossberg is giving the edge to the Dell based on a side headphone jack and USB port, and a separate button to put just the display to sleep. These are valid points, but I don't see how you draw the conclusion that its ahead based on this whole equation.
Because I expect the Linux community to have one on my desk by Monday.
And if they don't? Your attitude really sucks, or at least the tone of your message does. Are you helping to contribute to this community or do you just take (read: leech) from it.
I don't know how your post could even be considered "insightful."
Actually its a new feature that just automatically showed up on my iphone when looking thru the photos library. So I'm not sure who the "dummy" is here in this thread.
in summation, no new iphone update, but OP is not dumb for asking.
Actually, that's exactly what it was. A far stretch. If you have a campus wide network and as few as ONE or TWO CELLPHONES, can disrupt it, you need to make sure you are looking at your information properly. The amount of requests per second that they were reportedly getting flooded with would require more processing power than both or those cellphones had combined. Even if they were buggy to shit and doing nothing but flooding with requests they couldn't have been doing that many requests.
It's like saying that an old car has lots of problems with its engine and was seen going 200 miles per hour.
When ZFS was first mentioned in the same breath as OS X it was pointed out that at the time you couldn't boot off ZFS file systems, so people were thinking it would power external (or secondary) timemachine devices. If it's replacing everything, I'm assuming you can now boot from a ZFS drive? When was this functionality added?
again. CURRENT CONDITIONS. Log on to web site. Make an appointment within the next 48 hours. So its monday at 9 am, i can make an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. You can't tell me your store is so busy that you can't get a reservation within 48 hours. Bring in computer and have them repair it.
Obviously you are dealing with a busy store, some people deal regularly with slow stores. The truth averages out in the middle. Is there more than 1 store in your area? Maybe it has a slower genius bar. Just something to ponder.
Actually, your statement and many others is an over reaction. While procare gets you priority service(and always has), non-procare customers can continue to walk right up to the bar(with an appointment made from home or in the store), have their machine diagnosed and repaired the same day.
If you actually read the article, its a pretty sad excuse for a review. Of the 5 frameworks, 2 of them are dismissed immediately because they didn't meet the exact coding styles of their development team for this specific project.
The other 3 aren't really reviewed either, except to describe how well or poorly they matched up with how the author's development team already developed code for their projects. This article is more of a story about one development team's choices during their process of developing a new site for their company than it is a review.
This has been known and written about since back when Vista was first released for business customer's at the end of last year. It doesn't suck any less, but why are we talking about this today?
There is a difference between being included on the developer DVD( something users can optionally install ) and being included in the install that is already on their hard drive.
It will be a long time before google is on the Dow. If ever. They just don't move that quickly. Your examples are MSFT and INTC are two of the worlds largest companies and with solid profit and growth track records before they were added. There's a big jump between the S&P 500 and the Dow 40. And there is a long list of large companies that have been around a long time that aren't on the Dow. It also never overweights itself in any one sector, and between MSFT and INTC that's 1/20 of the index in high-tech. There's too many other sectors that need to be represented in the index. I just don't think Google will ever fit the bill for the big Dow 40. And if it is, it will be after about 8-10 more years of consistent earnings growth.
Because unforetunately, Anyone that uses Authorize.net and their virtual terminal service must use IE if you want to do any credit card refunds. Why? Because there is javascript that dynamically changes the web form when you check a radio button and change from capture a charge to refund a charge.
why doesn't it work in Safari or Firefox? I don't know, but it doesn't. When it works, I will never use IE again. Until then, it has to stay.
They'll have to come out with Xbox 361.....

My wallet was stolen off me back in July. My drivers license (read: current address) and SSN Card were both in the wallet. In addition to credit cards which they used immediately. The charges on the cards were all refunded by the issuing banks, but now I am worried that they will try and open up new accounts under my name. I've checked my credit report recently and so far they haven't tried to open anything.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation and can advise on whether or not its likely they will try and open a new credit card under my name and SSN with a new address?

Did we forget that Motorola is the ultimate power in the cell phone industry because they make the best selling phone the RAZR.....oh wait...

NO CARE EVER.
This site has nothign but google ads and keyword laden reviews. I'd take the opinion of a homeless bum more seriously than this article.
Project manage, bug test, QA, GOYA* * Get off your ass

The porn industry chose HD-DVD over blue ray. Ask Betamax if the porn industry has any pull with that sort of thing.
I really don't think it's fair to test out beta software on a 386 like that. Now that's just mean.

Bring macbook to local Apple store (cambridgeside galleria perhaps) instead of dealing with phone support.
Mac genius fixes macbook the same day.
rejoice.
