The future of cars is cheapo 3D-printed electrics for the few times you need to travel outside your house, after telepresense makes most travel obsolete.
It doesn't prevent you from going to the Moon. But it's a really shitty way to get to the Moon, since you waste fuel delivering payload to ISS, and then waste fuel getting payload from ISS to the Moon.
The high latitude of the launch site was one of the reasons the Soviet Union had so much trouble launching manned lunar missions.
Hint: this is for Visa applications. That is, for foreigners who aren't allowed to visit America without one, and are supplying this information in their own country.
And it's for Visa applications from people who like to hang out with ISIS, which should be an automatic denial in any sane world.
It's certainly true that the bottom-of-the-ladder universities would probably go bust. But the others would find ways to cut costs so more people could afford degrees. Because otherwise, they'd be joining them.
"Those sorts of subjects provide no real value to society at large."
Not at all. Their value is entirely negative, as they have nothing better to do than 'protest' and demand new regulations, thereby actively harming the economy.
"This would do the exact opposite of improving access to higher education, which is the primary reason these higher costs are a problem in the first place."
So you're saying that universities would rather go bankrupt than reduce prices to a level people can afford without loans?
Almost no-one would be paying $500k (and few would pay even $100k) for college if they had to hand it over in cash at the beginning of the course. The rise in costs is entirely due to student loans that can't be eliminated by bankruptcy.
I read a couple of years ago that student loans were then the largest source of new credit in the US economy. So the government had to keep the scam running in order to prop up the economy. So what if it financially crippled a whole generation of kids for life?
You do realize that some people's Internet costs dollars per megabyte, right? And they're probably in the middle of the freaking jungle, where they don't much care about some hole that might be exploited by ten-megabyte web ads, because they don't go anywhere near sites like that?
Microsoft are completely clueless about computers in the real world, which is why more and more people are trying to get away from them. My next Windows PC will basically be a $2000 game console, because I'd never try to do real work on a Windows PC again.
Or a new one. I bought a Probook 470 G3 recently, and it all just works with Ubuntu 16.04. Only issue I had was that Ubuntu wouldn't boot in EFI mode (it booted from CD and ran through the full install, then wouldn't boot after), so I had to reinstall in legacy mode.
It's hard to do DRM with easily-breakable encryption.
"the price tag disagrees. definitely in the luxury bracket."
Price doesn't make a car a luxury car, features do. Like, say, not having to stop for an hour every hundred miles to 'refuel'.
"Tesla IS the future of cars"
LOL.

Since the filesystem is designed for SSDs, it will presumably TRIM the freed blocks, and automatically wipe the data.
If not, I believe it's encrypted by default anyway, so finding old encrypted blocks won't do you much good.
They should only be allowed a visa to visit Hawaii, since Hawaii likes terrorists so much.
And those people should be coming to America because?

Get with The Narrative, dude. No Muslim bakery in America has ever refused to make a gay wedding cake.
Let's see... maybe it's because the other airports have better security to prevent people from taking bombs on planes?
Just an idea.
Wait until you're working with a disruptive dimwit and the union tells you they can't be fired because... union.
"Uber is an attempt to kill off taxi business all around the world, making drivers the new deplorables or rather slaves."
Taxis will be gone in twenty years, regardless. I'm no fan of Uber, but this is like worrying that buggy-whip manufacturers are going out of business.
"Some of us are competent and just want a job and not worry about the other external bullshit."
You've presumably never worked in a unionized workplace. You'd just swap one kind of BS for another.

"Missing out on four years of earning college level wages"
But I thought Starbucks paid minimum wage?

So you're saying that universities would rather go bankrupt than reduce prices to a level people can afford without loans?
"Otherwise we wouldn't need universities"
But we don't need universities. Or, at least, we don't need them for more than a tiny fraction of the population.
"Sure, you can do online degrees, but they are held in contempt for the most part."
By people who believe a piece of paper is more important than what you can do. Fortunately, their day is coming to an end.

Do fast-food joints and coffee shops even have HR departments? Because that seems to be all that most degrees qualify people for these days.
"This isn't inherently a bad idea."
You do realize that some people's Internet costs dollars per megabyte, right? And they're probably in the middle of the freaking jungle, where they don't much care about some hole that might be exploited by ten-megabyte web ads, because they don't go anywhere near sites like that?

Most people find MATE-based Linux easier to learn than Windows 10, because, unlike Windows 10, Linux looks like the Windows they've used for decades.

Besides which, touchscreens are lame after you've used a VR headset with hand-tracking.
