    Thanks for that, sounds good. I wouldn't buy a 500 buck PDA that is for sure. Cheap and long lasting sounds good to me too. I read about that fast as well in general, so I will look into this.

    What is good about a palm m500 in particular compared to others? (I have never used a hand-held ebook reader).

    Fantastic Four is a pretty SF focused comic, as well, come to that, to a reasonable degree.

    Not sure if a talking car qualifies as SF? :)

    Yeah. Where someone I know works apparently all the staff do it. According to that person, it is likely that your dog is more computer literate than a lot of said staff.

    Price is one thing to worry about, but excessive bandwidth today is perhaps not enough in a few years (for some)?

    Sometimes going to be a problem here : there may not be such a position. Manager type and office full of clerical types. Probably not going to get the manager type job in this situation.

    Yep. I've seen Blood (rented on video) and Evangelion, (on tv), no idea which versions or by who, but have seen them.

    Akira was showing in independent cinemas in the late 80s for example, tons of student types etc. had seen that.

    We hard grown up watching Kimba, Marine Boy, Battle of the Planets, etc., etc.

    I am certainly no anime nut, however, I'll rent or watch something if it looks interesting.

    Vampire Hunter D, Ghost In The Shell, Cowboy Bebop, for example, or even just silly fun stuff occasionally like Gunsmith Cats (some of which again was on tv).

    Exactly. If there are two good programmers applying for a job, with basically identical skills apart from written English, I hire the one that can write English correctly. Every time.

    Yep. I am sure I remember using the internet with NO web at all. Definitely read a lot of stuff then, and zero web ads.
