"The majority of time that I spend on the internet is spent communicating with others in some way."
Talking to the girl in the picture does not count as communicating.
Perhaps his collection predominately features acts that are not particularly conducive to procreation, so the evolutionary selective pressure card is out.
And a magic little box solves these? How about real driver's training/tests that require some actual demonstration of skill every X years (what is it now in the US, get like 50% correct on a couple simple questions a short little drive with an instructor when you were young and you are somehow capable of maneuvering a big ole vehicle even when you're old, blind, and fid.fid.fidgetting every 10 seconds). Drunk drivers causing problems? How about some real punishment when they're caught. Gee, sure hope they have a bus line or some awfully good friends nearby or a company that's not going to fire them, because maybe they shouldn't be driving for a while. Now these solutions probably aren't that great, but the direction that we head in should perhaps be to try to remove the dangerous people from the road (and try to not let them there in the first place - !!real driving tests!!) before starting to talk about invading everyone's privacy.
There's a dead give away that it is an April fools joke. If it had really been put out by the RIAA it would have read:
"to remotely destroy the computer of any user who could be involved in copyright infringement"
And what about bundling Microsoft with the Microsoft Calculator damn it! It's making it nearly impossible for me to sell by own calculator for windows. Unfair!
I don't think he was taking sides with one political party or the other, mearly pointing out that (almost) all politicians are the same in the end. They all do the same things back and forth to each other, the only thing that changes is the time.
Well, not that the law is not a joke, but at least perhaps with this law there would be some financial insentive to catch spammers that stupidly enough would continue to base their operations out of the U.S. Perhaps if say the investigating agency were to receive the punitive damages from the spammers.
And hey, if that doesn't work - then you can always try to sell the list of people that would for some reason register as "do not spam" to foreign spammers.
(This is regarding the majority of American citizens - the middle class, not the lower class although in some respects it can apply)
Usually, the only thing keeping a middle class income earner firmly locked in a position of slavery is themselves. (It seems) The majority of people have no sense of fiscal responsibility. If people would learn to live within their means then there are few reasons that they can not retire as a rich person (rich being approximately a millionare, which decently invested should allow sustained retirement). People are to willing to go into debt. Aside from a tragedy requiring excessive medical bills, this is not right. People should not be living pay-check to pay-check. (Just an example) People that should be buying honda civics go out and buy a sports car or an SUV, end up paying twice the cost because they couldn't afford to buy it in the first place and then wonder why they're stuck where they are!
True, living within your means won't make it so you're earning >$100000 a year, but if people could learn to save some of their money then they should be able to reach reasonable goals.
It's a simple choice, that luckily America allows it's citizens to make: live with decent stuff and be in debt your whole life or suffer a couple years with cheap stuff while you're saving lots of money and then sit back and enjoy a long retirement with nice stuff.
I think it's funny (and a bit scary) how if it was China that were enacting these measures America would be all over it and point out their stifling of freedom. However, there's not a word to be heard in the media when it's America doing it. So much for the free press.

Oh? Well, granting you the benefit of the doubt - just why would you want to chance looking at goatse again?
It's called a Mr. Fusion.
But without the calculators how do we solve the other half?
So can I deduct that on my taxes now, as a work expense?
We are at war with terrorists, we have always been at war with terrorists. War is double plus good.
So we have to wait until just before he dies for the good dvd set to come out?

You must have missed that he mentioned Microsoft as the buyer. They just saw that it got them an inch closer to total global dominance.
Muslim != Terrorist s/muslim/terrorist
Might they say in another several hundred years that there are very simple tests for the many world hypothesis as well?

Oh boy, I think ye've loosed it now.
Good luck on that.

Because it would be illegal to disable the device on a stolen vehicle, of course.

Yes.
But then the PUA (pimps union of america) would just file the same suit for tarnishing their businesses good name.
You're a first year economics student aren't you?
