Okay, so it's a farce. Although I seriously wasn't sure until I came to this point in the article:
I think that when Jesus said in Mark 16:15, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, He knew that True Christians(TM) like me in the future, would be called into virtual worlds where we'd be witnessing to gnomes, trolls, night elves and all sorts of other creatures.
I knew that sounded a little weird so I checked Mark 16:15 out and this is what it really says:
He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."
I enjoy satire like most people, but I have to shake my head at this one. How did this ever make it onto Slashdot? Shame... oh the shame of it all.
The mythological greek aspect of the chimera is that she [daughter of Typhon] was fully and genetically (though this terminology was not in use at the time) a fire-breathing she-monster with a lion's head and a goat's body and a serpent's tail. If she were to mate her offspring would take on her traits.
There is no mention of using this to effect evolution as you would have to change the genetic characterstics of the specimen of which there is no mention of this in this article. However, the evolution of genetically modified food is a hot topic now-a-days. However, this is a good case for evolutionary design. But I will save that for another day.;)
I meet and beat by a large margin all the requirements for Bloodlines except I'm close to borderline on the video card (GeForce 3 Ti 500 64MB). Ditto goes for HL2 and I get the same stuttering in both games. I'm crossing my fingers that this is a Source engine problem (which I'm sure it is) and that in a few weeks (hopefully days) I will be playing lag-free Vampires!
But this problem is almost identical for me in both games.
Somehow your logic doesn't fit ZorinLynx. Barfy was making an excellent point that the homepage should be something more for High Quality articles and the lower quality trash articles should be kept on their appropriate Slashdot sections.
I thought the same way as Barfy when I first saw that article. I just shook my head and if Barfy wouldn't have posted something about it I would have. Now I'm just going to back up somebody who is just trying to make the system better.
He might be a bit blunt in trying to do it, but so you have to be sometimes to encourage change and get noticed.
People think everything they see on TV is true, especially if its a documentary on the History or discovery channels.
My point exactly! I don't know if it's just because of television or because "science" is just plain stupid sometimes. I suggest it's a mixture of both.
As far as I know all the talk about the Earth being billions of years old is based on the pre-supposed idea that everything (atmosphere, etc.) on Earth has remained relatively the same.
It's funny how we have a tough time figuring out murder cases that happen just minutes ago (as an example) but we think we know what exactly killed the dinosaurs millions of years ago.
We even make documentaries about them and write it off to our children as irrefutable truth!
I'm a Canadian and up until yesterday I would have voted for John Kerry if I was an American. I love politics and have found this election race rather interesting. I recently downloaded a History Channel episode called "The Jesus Factor". It aired last week but I missed it. It's about how religion has influenced George Bush's political decisions.
After viewing the episode I had to rethink my opinion of George Bush. Now I'm not a George Bush lover by any means after watching the show, but John Kerry definetly doesn't have my full support anymore. The show does a good job of showing both sides (unlike Michael Moore documentaries, even though I love his films).
As a Canadian I think this elections will influence my country and ultimately me a lot. I think also that it will influence Americans even more and am surprised by those that choose not to vote. In the mind of many Canadians, according to a recent poll, George Bush lost a lot of respect after going to war in Iraq. I had no opinion of him until then and since then I had a very negative opinion of him. This documentary changed that a lot, but you can't change the past.
Does anybody that has watched this documentary have anything to say? I'd also be interested to see what other Canadians think of this whole election. There aren't that many that love politics as much as I do around me (my wife is glad she works tomorrow so she won't have to see any election coverage). Anyways hope to read more on others opinions.
I work at Walmart in Canada and our store does "fire" certain customers on occassion. The biggest and most common reason for banning certain problem customers is usually because they are caught stealing. This usually results in a 6-month ban from all Walmart stores in that city.
However, I was involved personally with a very "bitchy" customer who would ALWAYS be VERY VERY rude, obnoxious and often try and cheat us out of money and products. She was observed over the course of about 4 months and after more than 3 dozen complaints from staff ranging from her calling them stupid to her yelling at them all kinds of peronal threats she was banned indefinetly from all Walmart stores in Canada.
Personally, I believe that it shouldn't take so long to recognize these customers. It would save many retail employees from experiences which we are not paid nearly enough to put up with.
I have never had a problem with rebates, myself. I always take advantage of them, whether it is only for $1 or up to $400. Futureshop, and Staples seem to have the best program for checking your rebate status. You can check it easily online within a few short weeks. It's wonderful.

You all too right. Submitters should be modderated just like everyone else.
