And you want me to waste my time how? Now there is an idea to make some serius money:
    1) Run those honey pots on lots of different web servers.
    2) Flag the spam ip's.
    3) Sell black list as a service the intigrates with... you guessed it ... *ughh* Outlook

  6. But what good is the speed if you can't use it.... on 150 Mbit/s DSL. · · Score: 1

Hmm let me do the maths, I pay $30 US for 128kbps 10Gb per month or $0.15 per Mb for full speed (max of 400KB/s)... I see a very poor future. Here in New Zealand we have the technology, hell I have a fucking Gigabit fiber running outside my house but at $500 US a month, and thats for 10Gb only, its all about the money. Whats the point in having the technology but having it priced so insanely high that no one can afford it, i'd rather be without thank you. PS: Dial up is piss cheap $10 US for as much as you can get (read 24/7/365), and comes as cheap as $5 US for 150 hours.

I'm meant to be amazed at a 7 year old game that runs significantly slower (read 7 times on my machine) than the native code that has native machine coded libraries? Who are they trying to kid?

I'm all for java and its portability (hell Iâ(TM)ve been force fed it for the last 3 years at University & work), but the promised speed increases and the dynamic optimizations with the vm seem to be a long way away (can anyone say vaporcrap).

I'd have to agree with that. Stunning, knock you off your feet graphics, but when it comes to actual gameplay and fun factor, picking my nose is more fun and satisfyng. Being an EnB veteran I know what a game needs to keep you hooked and what will get you to play it for a month and stop. There is no real story, or ANYTHING! Its one HUGE univers were you can mine and mine and mine, and if you die you have to mine it all again... Graphics 10/10 Fun Factor 1/10 Will you be playing it in a month: unlikly Maybe a bit hash but its something to be aware of. Beta testing was boring as hell, huge universe were all you could do is mine.

  12. There is hope... on EverQuest: What You Really Get From an Online Game · · Score: 1

Having had Diablo 2 suck up over a year of my life and mess things up significantly I'd have to say that I understand where the article comes from. Having managed to escape once but only to be dragged back again, all I can say is; let it go, all of it, everything. Delete the game, change the passwords, give the game to someone else (pass on the plague ;). It's the only way to break free.

I remember hours before my exams where I should have been cramming because I had only been 'playing' the week before going, 'one more drop, just one more drop'. Not a good place to be.

But now a year on it's over, having left behind more than 16 level +80 characters and enough mules to equip a small army all I can say to you is; walk away, give it up, for were would you go otherwise. I know it's hard but it's the only way.
