    There are no wings. Either the feathers rotate back to become a stabilizer, or the craft is torn to pieces (see video of the most recent failure).

    or you're a contractor and you get loaded up with benefits of being an employee for the contracting company

    If you're a contractor you get more cash, but you need to spend some of it on yourself for things like health insurance and vacation. All the employer has done is shift the administration of those benefits from their HR department to you. In the end it should be a wash, but some people like to complain.

    A '72 Z28 Camaro is around 4 seconds, so I agree - those numbers are suspect at best. Have they actually done it? Or is this what the engineers calculate it might be able to do?

    The real money is in low power processors that are fast enough (like ARM) rather than big expensive processors that are running at about 1% of capacity.

    Agreed. I would prefer to have something like a gift card for small transactions - with no connection to me or my back account. Same as cash. But until then I use the credit card for big purchases and minimize the exposure by paying cash for small ones.

    I suspect the main effect of the veto is to save millions of dollars in legal costs challenging the constitutionality of the law before it was struck down by a judge. Besides, police can always hold someone on something vague like Disorderly Conduct if they want to.

    I never understood why cars have red tail lights when they're moving, and red tail lights when the brakes are applied.

    It seems to me that if we used amber tail lights when moving and red to indicate brakes it would be far more obvious that the brakes were applied. This is exacerbated by car designers who try to make the lights stylish - please, they are not a design feature, they're a fundamental safety feature and should be bright, obvious, and consistent across vehicles.

    the court only considered the GM canola in Schmeiser's 1998 fields, which Schmeiser had intentionally concentrated and planted from his 1997 harvest.

    The GMO label means nothing, but those pushing it will use it to imply GMO=unsafe. It then becomes a weapon they can use to advance their agenda to have all GMO removed from the food chain. For no good reason.
