  1. If only HP would listen to Australian customers on Finally A Major-Brand Desktop With Linux, Not Windows · · Score: 2, Informative

If you live in the U.S or Canada, great! But, HP Australia still uses harris technology as a distributor. HT make it appear as though WinXP Pro is the only OS worth owning. The way it's presented on their website is very -smug-. Anyway, it looks like a nice system. A shame I can't buy it because I refuse to pay for an OS (WinXP) that I will invariably remove the day I receive the machine. Farewell HP :'(

  2. The answer is staring us right in the face on "False" Open source Representative Tells EU Patents OK · · Score: 1

Who does this "open source representative" work for? What O.S.S projects have they contributed to. And most of all, who in the O.S.S community does respect him. Any hands? Even if he is authentic, would a judge order microsoft to release windows code just because a microsoft supported said they believed in it? Of coarse not, so why are we concearned about this O.S.S "representative".

  3. Hell just might g cold on Could Doom 3 be a Xbox Exclusive? · · Score: 1

It all depends on how much money Microsoft have and how much ID are willing to screw their loyal gamers. If they can lower their prices to pc equivalent and include an XBOX, I just might be in :)

  4. I've got plenty of coffee coasters already, thanks on Stash Your Hard Drive In The Attic · · Score: 1

My Ex-Router was kept in the loft/attic. Stable as rock she was. Until one day.. I went down to the beach one fine summers day, the temperature climbed and climbed. Oh S#^T!! It was too late :@ Like hell I'm gonna blow $500 on something else that could meet a similar fate. Then again I dont live in Alaska :(

  5. Physics put THROUGH a test on Space Elevator Company Fission · · Score: 1

It's a very fine balance. On one hand, you could possibly pull this 'rock' from the air, crushing civilization below it (ouch), while too much centrifugal force could pull it from the dirt and send it catapulting through space. Hmmm. I think I'll seek residence _AWAY_ from these 'elevators'.
